About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Chief Actuary to join our team at Manulife. As a key member of our leadership team, you will play a critical role in driving business growth and financial excellence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Reporting and Analysis: Lead the preparation of actuarial financial reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Forecasting and Planning: Develop and implement financial forecasting models, providing insightful analysis and recommendations to drive business growth.
  • Team Leadership: Manage a team of actuaries, providing guidance and support to ensure high performance and achievement of business objectives.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with senior management, regional offices, and other stakeholders to drive financial reporting and forecasting.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with local regulations, IFRS, and Canadian standards and policies.
Requirements
  • Professional Designation: Professional designation as an Actuary (FSA or equivalent preferred).
  • Experience: 15 years of experience in financial management of an insurance business, with deep understanding of profit drivers.
  • Skills: Strong negotiating and influencing skills, with ability to work with and influence other groups.
