Vice President of Finance

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Financial Director to join our team at MVC Resources.

About the Role

• Lead Financial Operations: Oversee and manage the finance and accounting department, ensuring that all accounting records and systems are properly maintained.
• Manage Financial Functions: Take full responsibility for the company's financial and management accounting functions.
• Prepare Management Reports: Ensure timely preparation and submission of monthly and quarterly management reports.
• Manage Treasury Functions: Oversee cash flow planning, banking operations, and inventory management.
• Implement Credit Management Strategies: Develop effective credit management strategies to ensure proper handling of accounts receivable.
• Control Cost Management Initiatives: Monitor and control cost management initiatives to minimize unnecessary expenses and wastage.
• Oversee IT Financial Controls: Oversee the company's computerized accounting system and IT financial controls.
• Develop Budgets and Forecasts: Develop, compile, and track the company's annual budgets, forecasts, and financial projections.
• Prepare Risk Management Reports: Prepare and provide risk management reports on an ongoing basis.
• Handle Tax-Related Matters: Handle all tax-related matters, ensuring full compliance with statutory requirements.
• Review Financial Policies: Review, implement, and continuously monitor financial policies and procedures, incorporating internal controls.
• Liaise with Government Agencies: Act as the main liaison with government agencies, including the Customs & Excise Department, Statistics Department, and MIDA.
• Support Group Financial Reporting: Assist in group financial reporting requirements as needed.
• Coordinate with External Auditors: Coordinate with external auditors on year-end audits and financial reporting matters.

Requirements

• Diploma holder, ACCA will be added advantage
• Proficient in full sets of accounts
• Proficient in taxation and costing
• Prefer manufacturing industry background
• Traveling allowance (mileage based on location)
