To succeed in this role, you should have at least 5 years of experience in related functions and a degree or diploma in Finance and Accounting/Commerce or equivalent. Professional qualifications like ACCA/CPA/MIA are an added advantage. You should also have strong communication skills, familiarity with accounting principles, and the ability to adapt to changing environments.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the general ledger team to achieve month-end close deadlines and deliverables as per SLAs.
  • Develop financial accounting reports, including variance analysis and issue highlights for management review.
  • Closely collaborate with the Compliance team on Bank Negara Malaysia report-related tasks.
  • Drive process improvements and implement new KPIs through system development and documentation updates.
  • Support subordinates in fixed asset accounting, reporting, reconciliation, and month-end closing activities.
  • Review KPI metrics related to the function and provide commentaries and root cause analysis for discussion with the Process Lead.
  • Take the lead in resolving operational issues and ensuring timely completion of month-end closing and reporting activities.
  • Stay up-to-date on corporate accounting policies and support policy implementation or changes.
  • Ensure compliance with external and internal controls and support audits.
