Data is a critical asset for Sime Darby Property Berhad, and we need a Senior Data Steward to help us manage it effectively.

This is a mid-senior level position that requires a deep understanding of data governance frameworks and best practices. The successful candidate will have a bachelor's degree in information management or computer science and at least 4 years of experience in data governance, data quality, and data privacy.

Responsibilities include:

  • Developing and implementing data governance frameworks, policies, and procedures.
  • Ensuring compliance with data privacy regulations and standards.
  • Overseeing data quality initiatives to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and reliability.
  • Leading and managing a team of data governance professionals.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to promote data governance best practices.
  • Monitoring and reporting on data governance metrics and KPIs.
  • Providing training and support to staff on data governance and data management practices.
  • Identifying and mitigating data-related risks.

Skills and qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Management, Computer Science, or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred.
  • Proven experience in data governance, data quality, and data privacy.
  • Strong understanding of data governance frameworks and best practices.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with data governance tools and technologies.
  • Minimum of 4 years relevant Data Governance and People Manager Experience required.
  • Certification in data governance or data management (e.g., CDMP, DGSP).
  • Knowledge of relevant data privacy laws and regulations (e.g., PDPA).
