Responsibilities

The key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Developing and enhancing climate scenario planning and stress test methodologies, focusing on expected credit losses and capital demand.
  • Engaging in discussions with stakeholders, management, and regulators on climate stress test matters.
  • Designing and developing stress testing processes, methodologies, and models to assess climate risks.
  • Collaborating with internal stakeholders to deliver climate risk stress testing initiatives.
  • Simulating MFRS9 ECL and/or regulatory credit risk capital demand (RWA and EL) projections for credit portfolios.
  • Preparing and submitting reports for climate risk stress tests to management, board, and regulators.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor's degree in actuarial science, statistics, mathematics, economics, risk management, or finance.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in financial institutions, preferably in risk management and stress testing.
  • Understanding of Basel IRB models, stress testing, and MFRS9 models and approaches.
  • Strong managerial and analytical skills.
  • Solid statistical modeling knowledge.
  • Proficient programming skills in Excel, SAS, Python, or other advanced languages, in data handling and statistical modeling.
