Inspector of Work

**Job Summary**

Responsible for enforcing quality control on site, to ensure that the installation of the Mechanical and Electrical Services of M&E building services complies with the Technical Specification and Drawings of the Contract Documents. The Mechanical and Electrical Services installation includes but is not limited to:

- Air Conditioning & Mechanical Ventilation Installation
- Electrical Services Installation Associated with Mechanical Services
- Fire Protection Installation
- Cold Water, Hot Water & Sanitary Plumbing Installation
- Swimming Pool Filtration System Installation [if any]
- Lift System Installation
- Electrical & Extra-low Voltage System (ELV) Installation
- Security System Installation
- BMS/DCIM System Installation

**Job responsibilities:

- **
- Report to [Project Manager/Director] for all matters relating to M&E building services installation.
- Liaise with Subcontractor / Specialist / Supplier on standard of workmanship to be achieved.
- Monitor the progress of M&E Building Services works and maintain site inspection records.
- Carry out daily M&E Site inspections of the M&E building services works and check for conformity with drawings and specification.
- Attend Contractor’s progress meetings, sub-contractors and utility coordination meetings, and any other ad hoc meetings.
- Liaise with Architect’s and C&S Resident Engineer [Client’s representative] on all site matters.
- Reports all unsatisfactory work and order re-execution where necessary to Lead Engineer / Project Manager/Director
- Report to Project Manager/Director for removal of any unacceptable M&E building services materials [Non-Compliance of materials / equipment used]
- Check the M&E building services works setting out in conjunction with the Architect floor plan / M&E Construction drawings.
- Check that the equipment and materials used, and site installation works are in strict compliance with the Contract Drawings and Specifications
- Attend and witness testing and commissioning of various building services works.
- Assist in liaising with Architect’s and C&S Resident Engineer and / or [General Main-Contractor] for matters of access, site logistics, utilities connections, etc, for building services works.
- Resolve M&E co-ordination issues / or problems encountered on site relating to the M&E building services works.
- Assist to submit weekly report covering the following:
-       i)    Manpower and supervisors on site

      ii)   Progress in relation to Subcontractor / Supplier / Specialist original and current programme

      iii)  Operations started during the month

      iv)  Operations completed during the month

      v)   Major equipment / materials deliveries to site

      vi)  Changes, delays, and challenges
- Prepare programme and agree with Employer for inspection of defects.
- Co-ordinate and schedule inspection of defects with Employer
- Ensure all site inspection documentation are in place and order, updated regualry and in systematic order.
- Keep proper records including but not limited to defects lists and rectification done; signed off inspection forms and T&C records.
- Carry out any other duties assigned by the Project Manager/Director

**Requirements**:

- Minimum 5 years of experience work in construction industry.
- Good command of English language, both written and spoken including report writing skills.
- Excellent internal communication & management skills.
- Solid planning & organizational skills including attention to detail & multi-tasking skills.

Working Hour

Monday to Friday 8.30am to 6pm

**Job Type**: Contract
Contract length: 24 months

Pay: RM8,000.00 - RM10,000.00 per month
