Radiographer

**DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES**

1. Principal duties entail carrying out Imaging Procedure which includes:
a. General Radiography (Digital Radiography & Computed Radiography)

b. Dental radiography

c. Mammography (for female Radiographers only)

d. Fluoroscopy

e. Computed Tomographic scan

f. Magnetic Resonance Imaging

g. Special Examinations

h. Bone Mineral Densitometry

i. Portable and Operating Theatre Radiography

j. Cardiac and General Angiogramgraphy

k. Lithotripsy

a. Computed Radiography system (CR).

l. Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS).

2. To produce images of optimal diagnostic value with mínimal radiation dosage to patients and mínimal wastage of films / computer disc.

3. To follow the 10-day rule for female patients of reproductive age. Pregnancy check MUST be done and verified before exposure to ionizing radiation.

4. To provide appropriate radiation protection to patients, relatives accompanying patients and other staff.

5. To inform the important clinical information of patient to assist the reporting radiologist in making the accurate diagnosis.

6. To check with the requesting clinicians to confirm the request whenever in doubt.

7. To check that patients for special examination e.g. barium meal, IVU, CT Scan, Angiograms etc. is properly prepared before commencing the examination.

8. To assist the clerk/receptionist at the reception counter and assist in the scheduling of patient for procedure.

9. To perform the Daily Checklist to ensure that the examination room, equipment and accessories are check, clean, tidy daily and all accessories used returned to their respective storage/position after every used.use.

10. To ensure room temperature and humidity check and are recorded daily.

11. To ensure that all imaging equipment is modalities are in proper working condition and tested before use for/to on patient.

1. To ensure the Computed Radiography (CR) System and it accessories in good working conditions and clean regularly.

12. To report to Imaging Manager / Biomedical Department of any malfunction or breakdown of any equipment.

13. To ensure that all order entries and service transactions are identified for the Receptionist/Clerk to capture for patient billing. Additional charges for contrast media, consumables etc shall be communicated to the counter staff and advice patient to pay the extra amount after completed examinations are completed.

14. To ensure that all relevant charges are entered in HIS for cases done after office hours/ and during on call.

15. To upgrade oneself on recent advances in radiographic & imaging procedures.

16. To provide services after normal working hours on a roster basis (on-call duties).

17. To attend and participate in meeting, training and activities conducted by the department/hospital.

18. To achieve the required training hours and department KPI.

**Salary**: RM1,800.00 - RM2,800.00 per month
