As part of our ambitious growth, we’re forming the Global Equipment and Maintenance team, which will drive productivity and operational excellence across 24+ manufacturing sites worldwide. We’re looking for passionate and skilled individuals to be a part of this exciting transformation journey.
Working closely with our engineering, R&D, and technical teams, you will collaborate with stakeholders across regions to implement best practices, improve equipment performance, and guide investments for our substantial 5-year CAPEX plan. You’ll play a critical role in harmonizing equipment standards globally while focusing on areas like powder processing, liquid processing, and semi-solid processing for products like toothpaste and topical OTC pastes.
Core Areas of Expertise:
- Manufacturing/Process Engineering: Oversee core manufacturing equipment across Haleon.- Powder Processing: Including blending, wet and dry granulation, and coating processes.- Liquid Processing: Including dosing, mixing, and other liquid manufacturing operations.- Semi-Solid Processing: Overseeing production of toothpaste and other topical pastes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Technical Mastery & Leadership: You will become the global expert and principal point of contact for all aspects of manufacturing and packaging equipment in your area of expertise, including key technical considerations like machine speed, maintenance, vendor selection, URS (User Requirements Specifications), and IQ/OQ/PQ validation.-
- Vendor Management: Work closely with key vendors to ensure that equipment purchases are optimized for both performance and cost-efficiency. You’ll have significant influence over global vendor partnerships and sourcing strategies.- Operational Improvement: Drive global OEE improvements by working closely with 24+ manufacturing sites to deliver technical solutions, optimization, and troubleshooting support. Ensure the delivery of high OEE with low operating costs through maintenance and technical guidance.- CAPEX Planning: Play a key role in executing our global 5-year CAPEX masterplan, driving equipment innovation, and ensuring that all new investments are aligned with global standards for optimal performance and cost-effectiveness.- Knowledge Sharing: Facilitate the sharing of best practices and technical knowledge across our global network of sites, supporting maintenance, training, and optimization efforts to continuously improve equipment performance.
Key Partnerships:
- Collaborate with Engineering and Technical teams, Site Leadership, Procurement, R&D, and Category Leadership teams.
- Act as a matrix leader, providing strategic direction and influencing equipment-related decisions across multiple business units and regions.
Qualifications and Skills:
Essential:
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, Chemical, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 10+ years of experience in production processes and equipment for manufacturing and packaging, preferably within the FMCG or healthcare sectors.
- Deep technical expertise in manufacturing equipment (powder, liquid, or semi-solid processing).
- Proven experience in managing cross-functional projects and leading technical initiatives across multiple sites or regions.
Preferred:
- Ability to influence senior stakeholders (R&D, Category Leadership, Operations) and drive consensus on technical decisions.
- Strong problem-solving and innovative thinking skills to tackle operational challenges.
- Demonstrated success in driving process improvements and equipment optimization in a fast-paced, global environment.
- Knowledge of cGMP regulations and general regulatory requirements for manufacturing.
- Excellent matrix leadership and ability to work effectively in a multicultural, multi-site environment.
- Strong business acumen and the ability to understand the impact of technical decisions on broader business goals.
Work Location: Ulu Kelang, Ampang, Kuala Lumpur
Reporting: This role will report directly to the Global Director of Equipment and Maintenance.
