**Overall Purpose Of The Services (Brief description of the primary purpose of this scope)**
- The Medic / Nurse is primarily accountable to coordinate all Occupational Health related activities on site as guided by Occupational Health Doctor (OHD).
- Medic / Nurse plays an integral role to support Client at site in any emergency health care services to the workforce working at client site, oversees all aspects of clinical and medical management within the clinic, including medical evacuation support.
**Key Responsibilities (Critical responsibilities and skills of this scope, listed in order of importance)**
**Patient Care**
- Undertake clinical consultations and provide the requisite standard of service and care to patients attending the clinic.
- Assist with ensuring appropriate patient triage and flow within the clinic and administer first aid and treat minor illnesses.
- Providing primary outpatient care, basic emergency medical care on the site to stabilize the patient, limited diagnostic testing, and assist in patient transfer by ambulance to designated medical facility.
- Develop and ensure continuity of patient care and appropriate follow-up and referral.
- Assist with the implementation of preventative medical care strategies, including structuring and performing medical screening services.
- Manage the delivery of competent and professional health services according to Intel and International SOS standards.
- Coordinate with the International SOS Assistance Center (AC) and Coordinating Doctors (CD) the procedures required and preparation of patients to facilitate evacuation from site to definitive medical Centre.
- Provide nursing consultations and determine which cases need further consultation with the Occupational Health Doctor.
- Ensure consultation rooms and ER are in appropriate condition
- Check all emergency equipment and ensure that they are in working condition
- Check all drugs and disposables inventory and ensure that none of these are beyond the expiry dates.
- Conduct hygiene inspections, infection control audits at a pre-determined frequency
- Documentation of all medical cases and ensure correct and proper storage of medical records
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Assistant Operations Manager / Operations Manager, Medical Services / Medical Director, Medical Services /Occupational Health Doctor.
**Quality Assurance and Administration**
- Work with the Occupational Health Doctor and Chief Medical Advisor to optimize quality assurance and ensure that appropriate medical outcomes are consistently attained with respect to the provision of clinic services.
- Implement and follow at any time the Medical Services escalation procedure currently operating while managing medical cases at site.
- Escalate to / inform and seek advice from Response Centre Doctor regarding any prescriptive medications being made on site.
- Ensure patient’s medical files and documentations are maintained to the requisite standards and in accordance with Client and International SOS standards for clinic services.
- Assist in the maintenance, selection and control of the medical equipment and supplies available in the clinic when requested or required.
- Ensure an effective and organized delivery of medical services through a self-audit program.
- Track and report data on clinic utilization by using the standard in the approved format.
- Periodically self-audit the clinic standards and SOPP by using the self-audit tool and accordingly identify gaps if any and develop a plan of action with the support of the Assistant Operations Manager / Operations Manager, Medical Services to keep the clinic at the highest score possible and ready for the official clinic audit.
**Promotion of International SOS Services**
- Ensure International SOS is represented in a professional manner.
- Ensure a Continuous Quality Improvement culture and system is maintained throughout the clinic.
- Assist in the promotion of International SOS’ medical services with the client.
- Participate in International SOS’ environmental, personal protection, disease and/or continuous health promotions.
**Occupational Health, Safety & Environment (OHS&E)**
- Comply with any reasonable instructions, policies, procedures or safe work practices given by Intl.SOS & Client’s OHS&E policy in adhering to safe work procedures.
- Promote good OHS&E practice at work place.
- Participate in the development and maintenance of a safe and healthy workplace as well as OHS&E related activities from time to time.
- Contribute towards achievement of company’s and Client’s OHS&E objectives and key performance indicators
- Responsible and accountable to all aspects of safety and health at work place
- Undertake all mandatory OH&S training as required.
- Co-operate with management in its fulfilment of its legislative obligations.
