We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join this team in the role of **Associate, Multinationals, Global Banking**.

**Role Profile**

To assist the Director to manage and develop a portfolio of corporate relationships with the aim of achieving maximum return to the Bank (globally as a whole) whilst providing top class customer service and maintaining sound credit quality and complying with both internal guidelines and external regulatory requirements.

The role purpose covers for both HSBC Bank Malaysia Bhd (HBMY) and HSBC Amanah Malaysia Bhd (HBMS).

**Principal Responsibilities**:

- Being the local Relationship Banker for a defined portfolio of Multinational Banking clients
- The role will require deepening client relationships and improving income generation through focused business development activities, and acting as the principal point of contact with clients for all products (e.g., FX, Global Payment Solution, Trade Finance, Debt, etc)
- Acting as principal point of contact internally with Credit & Risk, Compliance, Risk Analysis Unit and support teams for the designated client base
Requirements
- Business development skills
- Ability to initiate marketing activity, and support the marketing activity of others
- Ability to establish rapport with appropriate members of client’s management team
- Understanding of risk management and credit mitigates
- Ability to undertake in depth review of industry, competitors, client and products and provide a high-quality analysis of credit risk
- Strong analytical skills
- Strong financial analysis capability, accounting or finance degree preferred
- Knowledge of regulatory framework and Basel III accord
- Knowledge of KYC procedures and requirements
- Ability to develop good working partnerships with credit and product areas
- Strong IT skills (including Excel, PowerPoint etc.)
- Ability to research and develop themes for business meetings
- Knowledge of the full spectrum of Global Banking & Markets products and services
- Knowledge of HSBC Group organisation structures, credit and reporting systems
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- A team player
- A focus on developing career with Global Banking & Markets
