**Sasana International School** is located in **Bandar Tasik Puteri, Rawang - just 25 to 30 minutes away from PJ and KL via major highways**.

We are a pioneering initiative in **Waldorf Education** in Malaysia and we aim to cultivate in our students the capacity for **life-long learning** through provision of a **rich, structured and localized curriculum**.

We are looking for experienced **SEN Coordinators (SENCO) / Learning Support Coordinators (Primary School)** who are self-reflective and collaborative and who feel strongly about developing young people; teachers who are passionate about learning and knowledgeable about the factors that affect learning.

You must have good interpersonal skills and an interest in working and developing your practice as part of our committed team of teachers.

**Job Scope**:

- **Manage and oversee learning support programmes and resources** in the Lower School including **teacher aides**, **their timetables** and **utilisation of resources** within budget.
- Monitor student learning, engagement and wellbeing.
- Promote teacher and parent **understanding of students with diverse learning needs** and effective strategies to assist these students to engage successfully in learning.
- Maintain a close collaboration with the High School Learning Support & Horizons Programme Coordinator and meet regularly to share information and plan for effective student transitions.
- Undertake **in-class observations and diagnostic assessments** of students.
- Assist with the facilitation of **child studies** and **class studies**.
- Participate in the **enrolment interview** process and Class 1 Readiness Assessments
- Develop **collaborative action plans (CAPs)**, and other support and transition plans for specific students as needed and oversee their implementation and review through working with teachers, teacher aides and parents.
- **Liaise with parents, counsellors and outside agencies** and **organise student referrals** as needed.
- Maintain the **register of student learning needs** in Classes 1-8
- Organisation and filing of all associated documentation, record keeping, file notes, minutes of meetings, associated correspondence.
- **Assist with individual** and **small group tuition** as needed.
- Analyse **student achievement data** pertaining to those students on the Learning Support Register.
- Participate in ongoing **self-review and collaborative inquiry** to strengthen learning support practices.
- Participate in **appraisal** and goal setting and undertake training and professional learning as needed.
- Contribute to **appraisal of teacher aides**.
- Assist with **forward-planning and budgeting** as it pertains to learning support programmes in the Lower School.
- Establish and maintain **effective professional relationships, professional boundaries, confidentiality and communication** focused on student learning and wellbeing.

**Requirements**:

- Previous experience working in related fields is essential.
- A **good command**of written and spoken English and Chinese is required; knowledge of Bahasa Malaysia is an advantage.
- A high level of **organisation, communication and professionalism** is required in this role, which includes liaison with teachers, parents and external agencies and development of collaborative action plans and IEPs to assist children with identified learning needs to achieve their learning and development goals.
- **Strong teamwork skills**and evidence of the **ability to manage a team of teacher aides** and other learning support programmes is essential.
- A **patient, responsible and passionate attitude** to assisting students with their learning and development is key.
