Responsibilities:
- System and server administration:
- Manage services including web servers, databases, file servers, and container platforms.
- Oversee cloud infrastructure and services, particularly platforms like Office365, Azure or AWS.
- Implement and maintain security controls, monitoring logs and alerts for suspicious activity or potential breaches.
- Support and Troubleshooting
- Serve as the primary IT contact for system issues.
- Provide support and timely resolution for system-related incidents and service requests from users.
- Infrastructure maintenance and security
- Execute regular patch management and system upgrades to ensure all systems are secure and running efficiently
- Monitor system performance and capacity, conducting necessary tuning and optimization.
- Implement and manage system-level security, including firewall policies and access controls in coordination with the global security team
- Backup and Disaster Recovery
- Schedule, monitor, and verify all system backups to ensure data integrity and recoverability across sites.
- Participate in testing and maintaining the disaster recovery plan to ensure business continuity.
- Documentation and Automation
- Maintain clear, concise, and up-to-date technical documentation, procedures, and runbooks.
- Utilize scripting and Ansible to automate repetitive administrations.
- Cross-Regional Collaboration & coordinate with other regional IT teams for system handovers and global maintenance.
**Requirements**:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience.
- Having cybersecurity training or education will be an added advantage
- Experience
- 3+ years of experience in System Administration with a minimum of 2 years specializing in Linux administration in enterprise environment.
- Technical Proficiency
- Advanced-level proficiency in administering, tuning, and troubleshooting a variety of Linux distributions (RHEL/CentOS/Ubuntu).
- Strong scripting ability and experience with configuration management tool (Ansible preferred)
- Experience with virtualization technologies and/or Docker administration
- Solid understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, Firewalls, VPNs, VLANs) and their security implications.
- Shift/Location requirements
- Must be willing to work a schedule aligned with North American business hours.
- Ability to communicate fluently and professionally in English (written and verbal).
