To land a job as ÂÂÂÂÂa Barista you will need to show some previous experience in a retail or hospitality role such as front of house, coffee shop or café experience. A Barista takes on a range of roles including: 1. Preparing and serving hot and cold drinks such as coffee, tea, artisan and speciality beverages. 2. Cleaning and sanitising work areas, utensils and equipment 3. Cleaning service and seating areas 4. Describing menu items and suggesting products to customers 5. Servicing customers and taking orders 6. Ordering, receiving and distributing stock supplies 7. Receiving and processing customer payments Alongside some of these more general skill, good Baristas should possess: 1. Great communication skills 2. A happy, friendly personality 3. Customer service skills and knowledge 4. Enthusiasm to develop your skills and knowledge 5. Adaptable to change and willing to embrace new ideas and processes 6. Team player qualities
