Locum Optometrist

**Main Responsibilities**:

- Diagnose sight problems, such as near sightedness or far sightedness. Prescribe eyeglasses, contact lenses, and other visual aids to patient needs
- Performing procedures on patients involves the use of equipment such as Fundus Camera, Optical Coherence Tomography, Auto refraction, IOL master, Humphrey Visual Field and B Scan as request from doctor
- Ensure that the machines are in good working order
- Assist in the screening of patients in need of appointments in the absence of eye specialist by providing advice on eye problems either by telephone consultation or 'walk in' patients
- Provide knowledge sharing about eyes and train the staff in the clinic with proper examination and procedures
- Engage actively with the Marketing Department for the purpose of promoting the field of Ophthalmology in Pusrawi Specialist Hospital KL
- Assist the Head Nurse in the selection of eye equipment and supplies needed in the unit
- Reports evaluation for the quantity and quality of material equipment present in the unit
- Monitor proper usage of machine and equipment to prevent misuse and improper care of material
- Establish and maintain inventories of equipment and other supplies
- Adheres and implements standard for safe and effective practices i.e. machine calibration, disinfection, storage etc.

**REQUIREMENTS**:

- Bachelor of Optometry (Hons) and Visual Science
- Obtain a 4-year integrated undergraduate degree in Optometrist
- Valid license to practice as Optometrist
- Knowledgeable and strong believer in Quality Improvement activities and Infection Control standards

**Job Type**: Temporary
Contract length: 3 months

Pay: RM120.00 per day

Work Location: In person
