Cashier/barista

The Cashier is responsible for providing friendly and efficient customer service while handling cash transactions, preparing beverages, and maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the café and convenience store. This role plays a key part in creating a welcoming environment for student residents and ensuring smooth retail and café operations.

**CORE DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Provide friendly customer service and operate POS system accurately (cash, card, e-wallet).
- Handle daily cash float, balancing, and reconciliation.
- Prepare and serve hot/cold beverages (coffee, tea, chocolate, blended drinks) according to standards.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of café, barista station, and store areas.
- Assist in stocking, labeling, organizing merchandise, and ensuring proper product rotation (FIFO).
- Ensure store displays are neat, attractive, and fully stocked.
- Monitor inventory levels for both café and convenience store, and report low-stock items.
- Follow food safety, hygiene, and company SOPs.
- Support opening/closing duties, equipment checks, and proper storage.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Minimum SPM or equivalent; hospitality or retail experience preferred.
- Experience as a cashier or barista is an added advantage.
- Good communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia (Mandarin/Tamil is a plus).
- Friendly, service-oriented, and able to work in a student-friendly environment.
- Physically fit, detail-oriented, and accurate in cash handling.
- Able to multitask and work well in a team.
- Basic math, beverage preparation, and POS handling skills.
- Able to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
