Electrical Technician

**About the Role**

This position is essential to the successful on-site delivery of integrated electrical and IoT-based systems, ensuring that design intent is realized through high-quality field execution.

**Key Responsibilities Across the EPCIC Lifecycle**

**1. Engineering & Preparation Phase**
- Attend internal technical briefings and review relevant electrical drawings, termination schedules and layout plans.
- Prepare tools, cable tags, materials and consumables based on work scope.
- Provide feedback to engineering teams on constructability, access or potential installation issues.

**2. Procurement & Material Handling Phase**
- Inspect received electrical components and report damages or non-compliance to engineering.
- Organise electrical materials on site, maintain inventory logs and ensure readiness for installation.

**3. Construction Phase**
- Install cable trays, conduits, supports and electrical containment as per drawings.
- Perform cable pulling, dressing, tagging and termination of LV and control cables.
- Mount and wire switchboards, junction boxes, distribution panels and control devices.
- Follow installation standards including earthing, labelling and safety isolation practices.
- Identify installation clashes or technical concerns and escalate to supervising engineers.

**4. Installation & Testing Phase**
- Carry out continuity checks, insulation resistance tests and equipment verifications.
- Support loop checks and functional testing of sensors, relays, switches and connected systems.
- Verify interconnections between electrical, control and IoT devices under supervision.
- Maintain testing records, punch list logs and installation checklists.

**5. Commissioning & Final Handover**
- Assist in system energisation, power-up verification and live system testing.
- Support resolution of final punch list items and final inspection activities.
- Provide feedback on commissioning challenges, installation lessons and improvement points.

**Core Responsibilities**
- Execute electrical installation tasks in accordance with engineering drawings and safety guidelines.
- Maintain quality workmanship, cable integrity, and safe equipment handling.
- Coordinate with site engineers and follow daily work instructions.
- Use standard testing tools such as multimeters, megohmmeters and loop testers accurately.
- Record work activities, daily progress and test results for reporting and traceability.
- Comply with HSE procedures and wear required PPE at all times.

**Required Skills & Qualifications**
- Certificate or Diploma in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent technical qualification.
- Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience in electrical installation, preferably in offshore or industrial environments.
- Ability to read and understand electrical schematics, layout drawings and cable schedules.
- Proficient in using hand tools and electrical measuring instruments.
- Strong awareness of electrical safety practices and isolation procedures.
- Ability to work independently and within a team under site supervision.

**Preferred Qualifications**
- Offshore experience in oil & gas, marine, or renewables sectors.
- Valid certifications: BOSIET, H2S, offshore medical (advantageous but not mandatory).
- Familiarity with IoT or low-voltage control systems is a plus.
- Basic computer skills for accessing work orders or digital test forms.
