The Toolroom Maintenance Technician in the plastic injection moulding industry is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and optimizing tools, Molds, and dies used in the injection moulding process. This role involves routine inspections, troubleshooting, and precise machining to ensure Molds are in optimal working condition, reducing downtime and supporting high-quality production standards. The technician collaborates with production and engineering teams to address tooling issues, implement modifications, and maintain consistent output quality.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Mold Maintenance and Repair
- Perform regular maintenance on injection Molds to ensure they are in good working condition and meet production quality standards.
- Troubleshoot and repair issues with Molds, such as wear, cracks, or misalignment, ensuring quick turnaround times to minimize production delays.
- Disassemble, clean, polish, and reassemble Molds to maintain quality and longevity.
- Tooling Adjustments and Modifications
- Conduct adjustments and modifications to Molds and tooling as needed to meet production requirements and improve part quality.
- Operate precision machining equipment, such as lathes, grinders, and CNC machines, to create or modify tooling components with high accuracy.
- Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and engineering specifications to ensure precise work and adherence to standards.
- Preventive Maintenance and Record-Keeping
- Implement and follow a preventive maintenance schedule to maximize Mold life and maintain consistent production output.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and modifications within the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
- Track inventory of tooling and Mold components, ordering replacements or coordinating with suppliers as needed.
- Troubleshooting and Collaboration
- Respond promptly to production line calls for Mold-related issues, diagnosing and resolving problems to minimize downtime.
- Collaborate with production, engineering, and quality control teams to identify and resolve recurring issues, working on continuous improvements.
- Provide feedback and recommendations for design or process changes to enhance Mold performance and part quality.
- Health, Safety, and Compliance
- Follow safety protocols and company policies, ensuring a clean and organized work environment in the toolroom.
- Comply with industry regulations and standards, including OSHA requirements, for safe and effective tooling and Mold maintenance.
- Participate in safety training and actively report any safety concerns or risks.

**Qualifications**:

- High school diploma or equivalent; certification or training in tool and die making, Mold maintenance, or a related field is preferred.
- 2+ years of experience in toolroom maintenance or Mold repair within the plastic injection moulding industry.
- Proficiency in operating and maintaining machining tools, such as lathes, grinders, milling machines, and CNC equipment.
- Strong understanding of injection moulding processes, tooling maintenance, and troubleshooting techniques.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and Mold specifications.
- Familiarity with precision measurement tools, including micrometres, callipers, and gauges.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Experience with CMMS or maintenance management software.
- Excellent communication skills and a commitment to safety and quality in a high-paced production environment.

Pay: RM2,200.00 - RM4,500.00 per month
