Lab Technician

**Job Summary**:
The Lab Technician - Civil Engineering will be responsible for the day-to-day operation, maintenance, and support of laboratory activities related to civil engineering disciplines. The technician will assist in the preparation, execution, and documentation of laboratory experiments and support faculty, researchers, and students during practical sessions.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Prepare laboratory setups for practical experiments in various civil engineering domains such as:

- Structural Engineering
- Geotechnical Engineering
- Transportation Engineering
- Environmental Engineering
- Construction Materials Testing
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment including compression testing machines, universal testing machines, CBR apparatus, sieves, etc.
- Calibrate instruments and ensure proper functioning of lab equipment.
- Maintain inventory of tools, instruments, consumables, and materials used in the lab.
- Ensure laboratory cleanliness, safety, and adherence to safety protocols and guidelines.
- Assist faculty and students during lab sessions, research work, and project testing.
- Maintain proper documentation of laboratory results, test reports, and equipment logs.
- Support in the procurement process by identifying needed equipment and consumables.
- Troubleshoot basic technical issues and coordinate with vendors for repairs or upgrades.
- Participate in lab audits, inspections, and accreditation-related processes (e.g., NAAC, NBA).

**Qualifications and Experience**:
**Essential**:

- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related technical discipline.
- 1-3 years of hands-on experience in a civil engineering laboratory.

**Desirable**:

- Experience in an educational or research environment.
- Familiarity with lab manuals, standard testing methods (IS codes), and documentation procedures.
- Basic computer skills (MS Office, report generation).

Pay: RM2,500.00 - RM2,800.00 per month
