**About the Role**

**Key Responsibilities**
- Design, develop, and maintain RESTful APIs using **Express.js**:

- Integrate with **MySQL** for data storage and complex queries, using both raw SQL and query builders
- Handle file uploads (especially images) using **Multer**, process/compress with **Sharp**, and serve media efficiently
- Build out API endpoints for CRUD operations (partners, tours, agencies, etc.)
- Manage static file serving, public directory setup, and basic frontend routing (HTML/JS/CSS integration with backend)
- Use **dotenv** for environment variables and manage secure credentials
- Integrate **country-state-city** package for dynamic region/country lookups
- Write robust error handling middleware for APIs, uploads, and edge cases
- Work with asynchronous code (async/await, Promises), especially for file and DB operations
- Ensure data validation, sanitization, and proper API error responses
- (Nice to have) Collaborate on frontend work (React or plain JS) if needed

**Key Skills & Technologies**
- **Node.js** & **Express.js** (Advanced)
- **MySQL** (Intermediate to advanced, inc. joins/group by, pool management)
- **Multer** (File upload management, validation, file size/type restriction)
- **Sharp** (Image processing, resizing, compression)
- **REST API** design and best practices
- **dotenv** (Environment variable management)
- **body-parser**, **CORS**, **path**, **fs/promises**:

- Static file serving in Express
- Asynchronous JS (async/await, Promises)
- Error handling in Express (middlewares)
- Familiarity with data validation/sanitization techniques

**Bonus/Plus**:

- Experience with authentication flows (JWT, session-based, etc.)
- Basic frontend (HTML, CSS, JS)
- Familiarity with cloud hosting or deployment (Heroku, DigitalOcean, AWS, etc.)
- Knowledge of image handling for production apps (CDN, cache strategies)
- Experience with integrating country-state-city or similar location libraries

Pay: RM500.00 - RM700.00 per month
