**Position Summary**:
Product and Application Development (PAD) Technician works on development and validation of new polymer compounds products for SEA customers. He/she works within the PAD team, under the supervision of PAD Engineers.

**RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES**:
**Safety**:

- Understand and comply with all safety requirements.
- Ensure that he/she stay fully aware of the safety risk in all his/her activities. Report any concerns or questions.
- Report any concern/opportunity to improve safe operations for himself and colleagues.

**Technical**:

- Working closely with the PAD Engineer in charge of developing a new formulations, PAD technician will execute independently the full range of experimental work to develop the new formulation:

- Preparing and weighing raw materials
- Extruding the new formulation on laboratory extruder
- Molding the test specimens to evaluate the performance of the new formulation
- Performing the tests to quantify the performance of the new formulation
- He/she will document the results and observations of his/her experimental work and review with PAD engineer.
- He/she will ensure the quality and the timely execution of his/her projects.
- He/she will be supportive of his/her colleagues to maximize the effectiveness of the entire PAD team.
- To grow his/her career, technician is expected to develop his/her own knowledge for our products and formulations to become able, with time, to own his/her own projects.

**Quality**:

- Understand the impact of his/her work on the quality of his/her results and insure high standard of quality.
- Maintain a good, well organized documentation of his/her activities.

**Lab management**:

- Ensure retained samples are kept in good condition and have good traceability.
- Maintain a safe working environment, with equipment clean and in good working conditions. Report any issue/concern.
- Play an active role in identifying improvement opportunities for safety/efficiency/quality.

**PERSON SPECIFICATION**:

**Education**
- SPM or other relevant qualification

**Work Experience**
- At least 3 years working experience in Manufacturing and testing

**Languages**
- Able to communicate in English (written and spoken)

**Other skills**
- Computer skills
- Able to work independently under little supervision
