**Job Overview**

Industrial designers, like other designers, use creativity and knowledge of automobiles to create attractive, functional designs of components. Your work begins with an initial idea and may end with a 3D scale model. Daily routine includes exploring ergonomics, safety and calibration via simulation, cad modelling, testing and prototyping.

As an Industrial designer, you'll draft layouts of auto components, assemblies and systems using sketches, models and prototypes. You'll also determine factors that may affect design proposals by using reverse engineering, understanding manufacturing limitations and collaborating with engineers.

Alongside engineers and cost estimators, designers make preliminary sketches of concept designs, including interior and exterior design and colour scheme. Using computer-aided design -- or CAD -- software, Solidworks you create three-dimensional mock-ups, including style, trim, functionality to validate design solution. You may create other models and prototypes for physical and computer verification testing. After testing, you may alter current designs to meet a higher standard.

Responsibilities of the job typically include:

- Assessing project requirements.
- Agreeing and negotiating project budget, timescales and specification with clients and managers.
- Developing and implementing test procedures.
- Building prototypes of components to carry out tests on.
- Interpreting and analysing results and data.
- Sourcing components and proposing CMF (Color,Material,Finish)
- Using 3D CAD software to produce designs (SOLIDWORKS)
- Investigating and solving problems.
- Carry out FEA, FMEA and DFMEA in designing.
- Working closely with suppliers.
- Documentation.
- Undertaking relevant research.

Necessary Skills

Industrial designers must be proficient or intermediate at using CAD software, such as Solidworks, and rendering software. Ability to create preliminary sketches is an added advantage. You must think conceptually and consistently demonstrate creativity. An understanding of automobile designs, engineering and basic manufacturing is also important.

About You
- A degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in related industries. However, fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.
- Skilled in 3D CAD (Preferably, Solidworks)
- Skilled in rendering software
- Assertive and diplomatic - a good collaborator and receptive of constructive criticism.
- Ability to express and expand ideas with or without design tools.
- Willing to learn and always love to improve

**Salary**: RM2,500.00 - RM4,000.00 per month
