**Job Summary**:
The Land Surveyor / Geospatial Surveyor is responsible for the execution of surveying, mapping, and geodetic activities to meet departmental and corporate needs. This includes providing technical services and consultation in areas such as cadastral surveying, geodetic mapping, underground utility mapping, and geospatial data management. The role also involves ensuring the timely, cost-effective, and quality delivery of surveying-related projects, as well as supporting administrative functions related to land and geospatial management.
**Key Responsibilities**:
**Surveying & Mapping Planning**
- Plan and coordinate budgeting and procurement for surveying and mapping works (DE & Outputs).
- Prepare terms of reference and technical specifications for the procurement of surveying services in accordance with current survey regulations.
- Estimate the cost of survey work appointments based on engineering survey fees, Schedule 13 title survey fees, and other relevant guidelines.
**Surveying & Mapping Project Management**
- Oversee procurement processes for the appointment of land survey consultants.
- Ensure procurement activities comply with current Treasury Circulars and regulations.
- Manage project execution and contract administration for surveying and mapping projects.
- Monitor field survey work and mapping activities to ensure compliance with quality and technical requirements.
- Review and verify claims and payments submitted by survey consultants or contractors.
**Technical Advisory Services**
- Perform site surveys, boundary verifications, and inspections of railway land for development planning, project management, and complaint resolution.
- Prepare and review technical land survey reports.
- Supply land information such as official searches, certified plans, gazette reserves, and related data upon request from other RAC units or departments.
**Geospatial Information Management**
- Collect, prepare, and manage spatial data along railway corridors.
- Produce maps and plans at various scales for both digital and hard copy usage based on user requests.
- Review and ensure the accuracy and completeness of data used in map production.
- Store all survey data in the GIS and RAILS database systems.
- Process and validate survey data, boundary information, geospatial datasets, and data extractions to support map publication and internal planning.
**Qualifications**:
- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Geomatics, Surveying, Geospatial Science, or related field.
- Licensed Land Surveyor or certification recognized by the Land Surveyors Board of Malaysia (LJT) is an advantage.
- Minimum 3-4 years of experience in land surveying, mapping, or geospatial data management.
- Proficient in surveying equipment, GIS systems, CAD tools, and relevant software (e.g., AutoCAD, ArcGIS, QGIS).
- Good knowledge of cadastral and engineering survey practices, National Land Code 1965, and mapping standards.
- Strong analytical, communication, and project coordination skills.
- Ability to work in field environments and collaborate with technical teams and external agencies.
**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: RM3,500.00 - RM6,000.00 per month
