- Job Purpose_
The Assistant Consultant plays a vital supporting role within Humanology Sdn Bhd’s consulting team. This role is designed to assist consultants in delivering high-quality government and private sector consultancy services. The Assistant Consultant contributes by preparing professional presentation slides, conducting research and data analysis, drafting reports, and managing databases and information resources to ensure smooth and timely execution of consultancy projects.
- Key Responsibilities_
- Slide Development and Visual Support_
The Assistant Consultant is responsible for preparing professional presentation slides for internal discussions, client meetings, stakeholder engagements, and public presentations. These materials must be well-organised, aligned with the consultancy's branding, and tailored to specific audiences, especially government stakeholders.
- Report Writing and Documentation_
The Assistant Consultant assists in drafting, formatting, and proofreading consultancy reports, policy proposals, feasibility studies, impact assessments, and evaluation documents. Accuracy, clarity, and alignment with public service and professional standards are essential in all written submissions.
- Research and Database Management_
The Assistant Consultant conducts desk research, literature reviews, and benchmarking studies relevant to ongoing consultancy projects. This includes sourcing data from government portals, academic journals, global consultancy reports, and internal databases. The role also includes managing Humanology's knowledge repository and client project data in an organised and retrievable format.
- Administrative and Technical Assistance_
This role supports the consultant team by organising files, scheduling meetings, taking minutes, formatting deliverables, and coordinating with graphic designers or other departments as needed. The Assistant Consultant may also assist during client workshops, training sessions, and fieldwork if necessary.
- Collaboration with Consultants_
The Assistant Consultant works closely with Senior and Lead Consultants to ensure deliverables meet deadlines and client expectations. The role involves understanding consultancy scopes, contributing to internal discussions, and assisting in aligning findings with the client’s objectives, particularly in complex government-related projects.
- Preferred Qualifications and Experience_
- A Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Public Administration, Business, Economics, Social Sciences, or a related field.
- 1-2 years of experience in a similar role is an advantage, particularly within consultancy, public policy, or research sectors.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, and Word. Experience with Canva, Visme, or design tools is a plus.
- Strong command of English and Bahasa Melayu (written and spoken).
- Familiarity with Malaysian government structure, policies, and development plans is desirable.
- Excellent time management and communication skills.
- Willingness to learn, detail-oriented, and able to work under tight deadlines.
