Technician Maintenance

SUMMARY The Maintenance Worker plays a vital role in the upkeep and repair of equipment, machinery, and facilities within a chemical plant. This position involves performing maintenance tasks, conducting inspections, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring the smooth operation of plant assets. The Maintenance Worker collaborates with the production team, follows safety protocols, and contributes to the overall efficiency and reliability of plant operations. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Equipment Maintenance and Repairs: Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as lubrication, filter changes, cleaning, and inspection of equipment and machinery. Assist in diagnosing equipment malfunctions, identifying the root causes, and performing necessary repairs or adjustments. Follow maintenance procedures and guidelines to ensure safe and efficient operation of equipment. Collaborate with the maintenance team to plan and execute preventive maintenance activities 2. Troubleshooting and Problem-Solving: Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns or failures and assist in troubleshooting issues to identify and resolve problems. Work closely with supervisors or senior technicians to gather information, analyze symptoms, and determine appropriate solutions. Utilize hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment to conduct repairs and replacements as needed. Keep accurate records of maintenance activities, work performed, and parts used. 3. Safety and Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols and regulations at all times, ensuring personal safety and the safety of others in the vicinity. Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and maintain compliance with environmental, health, and safety guidelines. Report any safety hazards, incidents, or near misses to the appropriate personnel. Participate in safety training programs and contribute to maintaining a safe work environment. 4. Preventive Maintenance Support: Assist in conducting routine inspections and checks of equipment and facilities to identify potential issues or maintenance requirements. Collaborate with the maintenance team to implement preventive maintenance tasks and schedules. Help maintain a clean and organized maintenance area, ensuring tools and equipment are properly stored and maintained. 5. Communication and Teamwork: Communicate effectively with supervisors, team members, and other plant personnel to report maintenance status, updates, and concerns. Collaborate with colleagues and provide support during maintenance projects or tasks that require teamwork. Participate in team meetings, contribute ideas for process improvement, and support a culture of continuous improvement. JOB REQUIREMENTS: High school diploma or equivalent educational qualification. Minimum 3 years experiences in maintenance or a related field, preferably in an industrial or chemical plant environment. Basic understanding of mechanical, electrical, or instrumentation systems. Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and basic maintenance equipment. Knowledge of safety protocols and the ability to follow safety guidelines. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot mechanical issues. Attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions accurately. Good communication skills to interact with team members and report maintenance activities. Physical fitness and the ability to perform manual tasks, including lifting and working in confined spaces. Willingness to work in shifts and overtime as required.
