Maintenance Manager

**JOB DESCRIPTION**:

- Provide a professional, advisory and executive support service to the Hotel Manager/ Director to assist in meeting the strategic goals of the establishment.
- Control, initiate and undertake capital projects from design and pricing to construction and commissioning.
- Control and administer all Maintenance contracts throughout the hotel.
- Oversee the general cost control aspects of maintenance.
- Source quotations and supervise Contractors on site.
- Ensure proper measures are taken to protect the environment measures are taken to protect the environment and the hotel adherence to it.
- Institute systems to save energy and resources.
- Implements energy management systems to minimise wastage and costs.
- Supervise the daily operation and maintenance of building, electrical and mechanical services, water features, fixtures, furnishings and equipment.
- Carry out all emergency repairs to all technical equipment, general fitting, welding and machining.
- Implement and maintain training systems to ensure that Maintenance associate have the necessary framework and skills to perform their job efficiently and effectively.
- Conduct walk through and visually access the safe and efficient maintenance and operation of the physical structure of the hotel, all mechanical, electrical, HVAC systems and other related equipment.
- Control and supervise the Fire Preventative Maintenance Programs. Check all fire and maintenance safety features to ensure they operate at peak efficiency. Source quotations and supervise Property Maintenance Contractors on site.
- Carry out regular inspections of plant and equipment and ensure that inspections required by Government authorities are conducted and documented. Carry out general room inspections and preventative maintenance inspections including the scheduling of all these works
- Ensure that workshop have adequate stock and materials in store, co-ordinate with storekeeper for stock replenishment on a timely schedule. Ensure workshop is kept in a clean and safe environment.
- Oversee so that expenses are in line with departmental budgeting, capital plan and projects Participate in the preparation of the Strategic Business and Operating plans. Prepare monthly outlook/forecasts and reports.
- Implement and maintain training systems to ensure that associate have the necessary framework and skills to perform their job efficiently and effectively. - Oversee the selection and appointment of new associates within the department. Conduct regular associate meetings to keep all associates are fully informed. Participate in the Hotel “Manager on Duty” program in the absence of Hotel Operations Manager.
- Ensure compliance with legislated workplace health and safety requirements. Promote by example the principle that the customers of the Properties Maintenance Department are the paying guest and all the Hotel’s Departments. Actively promote a work environment, which cares for guests and associate alike.
- Any other ad hoc duties as assigned by the Hotel Manager

**Job Requirements**:

- Bachelor's degree in Electrical/ Mechanical Engineering, Diploma in Electrical/ Mechanical Engineering, Certificate or a related field
- Minimum 5 years above of management experience in a similar capacity in a 4-star hotel.
- Pleasant personality
- Good interpersonal skill and team-oriented person
