**The Area Operations Manager has overall responsibility for Operations including the safe and efficient operation of the FPSO’s all in accordance with company policies, procedures and contractual obligations, the management and the administration of the onshore facilities staff and sub-contracts.**
- The main responsibilities are:
- Directs and monitors all operational activities of the management of the shore bases and offshore assets within the areas assigned.
- Applies management to the effective implementation and compliance with company operating procedures.
- Responsible for the close supervision of shore base management compliance with class rules and flag regulations.
- Continuously reviews the financial performance of the operations within the areas assigned, ensures that operating budgets are effectively managed and that recoveries and incomes are maximized. Responsible for supervision and support of shore base management in all contractual and commercial related matters.
- Directs the preparation, negotiation and award of operational subcontracts within the areas assigned. Ensures that periodical audits of contractors and re-tendering of services for commercial and qualitative advantage are undertaken.
- Actively participates in start-up activities in support of the Start-Up Manager toward new assets arriving within the area of operations assigned and ensures that preparations of every kind for the operational phase are in place in a timely manner.
- Responsible manager to fleet and corporate HR departments for shore base and offshore personnel matters of every kind within areas assigned.
- Ensures that company standards for Safety and Environmental Protection are observed within all operations in the areas assigned.
- Supervises the effective and timely close out of actions arising from internal and external audits.
- Ensures that all offshore and shore base mandatory certificates and licenses are obtained and maintained in date by close supervision of shore base management. Ensures that adequate insurance coverage is provided and maintained at all times toward all company operations, assets and activities on and offshore and that operating warranties are complied with.
- Maintains a close working relationship with Company Legal Counsel on all matters related to insurances, claims, operational, contractual, commercial and legal matters of every kind in order to best protect and preserve the company’s interests.

**Academic background**:

- Engineer Degree (such as Process, Naval Architect, Chemistry) OR General Business (such as MBA).

**Professional background**:

- Will be required a minimum of 10 years' experience in FPSO environment, as well as a relevant knowledge in all technical disciplines related with a FPSO's operations.
- Relevant experience with account management, including financial and P&L management.
