**Job Description: Medical Doctor (General Practitioner)Position Title**: Medical Doctor (GP)

**Reports To**: Clinic Manager / Medical Director
**Location**: GP Clinic Setting (Primary Care)
**Employment Type**: Full-time / Part-time / Locum
**1. Job Purpose**
To provide high-quality primary healthcare services, ensure accurate diagnosis and management of patients, maintain clinic standards, and support the efficient operation of the GP clinic.
**2. Key ResponsibilitiesA. Clinical Care & Consultation**
- Perform comprehensive patient consultations, history taking, physical examinations, and clinical assessments.
- Diagnose and manage acute, chronic, and preventive medical conditions.
- Provide evidence-based treatment and follow-up care.
- Prescribe medications according to Malaysian laws and clinic guidelines.
- Interpret basic investigations (blood tests, X-rays, ECG, urine tests, etc.).
- Refer patients to specialists or hospitals when necessary.
- Provide clinical counselling and health education.
**B. Emergency & Urgent Care**
- Manage medical emergencies such as asthma attacks, trauma cases (minor), acute allergic reactions, chest pain, or fever.
- Perform basic life support (BLS) and stabilisation when needed.
- Ensure familiarity with clinic emergency protocols and equipment (AED, emergency trolley).
**C. Procedures**
Perform minor clinic procedures where credentialed/privileged, such as:
- Wound care, suturing, dressing, and removal of stitches
- Incision & drainage (I&D)
- Nebulisation therapy
- Ear syringing
- Pap smear, vaccination, and other routine procedures
- Basic dermatology procedures (cryotherapy, skin tag removal)—if trained
- Any clinic-specific procedures as per competency
**D. Documentation & Reporting**
- Update EMR (Electronic Medical Records) accurately and promptly.
- Maintain proper documentation for patient notes, prescriptions, referral letters, and reports.
- Ensure compliance with medico-legal documentation standards.
- Assist in medical reports when required (e.g., insurance, SOCSO).
**E. Patient Safety, Quality & Compliance**
- Ensure infection control practices are adhered to (e.g., PPE, hand hygiene).
- Follow MOH clinical guidelines, clinic SOPs, and professional best practices.
- Ensure compliance with MOH licensing, medications handling, and audit standards.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives (audit, feedback, M&M discussions).
**F. Clinic Operations Support**
- Provide clinical leadership and support for clinic staff (nurses, clinic assistants).
- Assist with supervising medication dispensing and laboratory processes.
- Support smooth patient flow and overall clinic efficiency.
- Participate in monthly clinic meetings or training sessions.
**G. Communication & Customer Service**
- Communicate clearly and professionally with patients, families, and clinic team members.
- Manage patient concerns or complaints with empathy and professionalism.
- Contribute to maintaining a positive and welcoming clinic environment.
**3. Qualifications & RequirementsEducation & Credentials**
- MBBS/MD or equivalent recognised by MMC.
- Full registration with the Malaysian Medical Council (MMC).
- Valid Annual Practising Certificate (APC).
- BLS/CPR certification (mandatory); ACLS (advantageous).
**Experience**
- Preferably with 1-3 years clinical experience (including housemanship).
- Experience in primary care, emergency, or family medicine is an advantage.

- Ability to work independently and in a team.

- Competent in using EMR systems.
- Able to multitask in a fast-paced GP clinic setting.
**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: RM8,000.00 - RM15,301.29 per month
