Analyst, Securities Settlements

**What is the opportunity?**

Securities Settlements sit within the Settlements and Clearing pillar within BCS. The global team are responsible for the global oversight of settlements relating to Fixed Income and Equities products. Key responsibilities of the Securities Settlements team include:

- Pre-Matching - Liaise with clients to ensure that trades are matched ahead of intended settlement date.
- Failed Trade Management - Liaise with clients and business to manage any failing trades, resolving issues, managing risk and escalating where necessary.
- Reconciliation - Ensure controls are met through account reconciliation of external cash / depot statements against internal ledgers.
- Funding - Daily management of cash balances at custodians.

Other controls managed by the group include: producing and distributing daily/monthly reporting (Failed Trade / Pre-Matching), managing Buy-in Risk when failing settlement with Clearing Houses, preparing/approving monthly attestations and collating SOD packs in accordance with the global RBC attestation policy.

As an Analyst, you will be responsible to provide operational and client support for Settlement and Clearing across Cash Equities and Fixed Income settlements for RBC Capital Markets global trading desks.

**Working hours: 3:00PM - 12:00AM**

**What will you do?**
- Responsible for confirmation and settlement of all Securities Settlements trades.
- Ensure all transactions are processed in accordance to the bank rule, Standing orders, circulars, laid-down procedures and local requirements.
- Ensure all daily processing and settlement tasks for the team are completed in a timely and accurate manner, following established procedures and standing orders of RBC.
- Ensure intra and EOD checks are conducted daily with any outstanding issues identified and actioned or escalated as appropriate.
- Ensure escalation of issues / risks to management.
- Ensure effective channels of communication with both Front Office and internal Global BCS colleagues as well as other functions.
- Prepare monthly attestation PEGA and ESOD.
- Identify key areas for improvement and development to create operational efficiencies.
- Seek to mitigate and minimize risks.
- Other duties as assigned by management.
- Provide relief support and other duties as assigned on all functions performed across the teams.

**What do you need to succeed?**

**Must-have**
- MBA/University Degree and/or relevant professional training.
- 1-3 years of related Operations Experience.
- Basic working knowledge in SWIFT, Real Time Payment Systems, International Settlement Rules, Industry codes and best practices
- Basic understanding of operational risk, impacts and preventative control framework.
- Ability to perform analysis of business processes.
- Ability to work shift hours to cover EMEA time zones.
- Good communication skills both written and verbal (English) required due regional support structure.
