**Position Summary**

We are currently looking for a highly competent **Legal Counsel** to join our team in Kuala Lumpur. You will support the Nestlé group’s commodities, technical and logistics procurement categories with holistic, pragmatic, and business oriented legal advice, on transactional matters vis-à-vis suppliers and on specific derivatives regulations.

Reporting directly to the General Counsel for Nestrade S.A., you will be an integral part of the dedicated Global Procurement Legal team for the Nestlé Group.

**A day in the life of a Legal Counsel for Procurement**
- Responsible for providing legal advice and support to the commodities, contract manufacturing, technical and logistics categories within procurement (with direct responsibility for specific suppliers based on expertise and location within the team), fostering working relationships with lead buyers and procurement managers.
- Collaborating with the lead lawyers in the management of the legal affairs of the commodities, contract manufacturing, technical and logistics spend groups.
- Supporting management and resolution of claims to ensure business continuity and recover compensation for loses.
- Monitoring and advising on the ongoing legal requirements for all hedging and supplier financing activities and processes of Nestrade through the understanding of commodities derivatives’ markets and their legal regulations to ensure compliance with focus on financial market regulation in Switzerland, UK, EU and/or US.
- Contributing on all legal aspects of Nestlé’s ESG strategy in all areas of the supply chain.
- Raising awareness, visibility, and importance of legal matters to lead buyers and procurement managers.
- Protecting the best interests of Nestlé, always aligned with the fundamental corporate and procurement policies.

**What will make you successful**
- Professionally qualified lawyer with a minimum of 8 years of PQE.
- Fluent in English language.
- Developed knowledge of commercial law and practice and excellent contract negotiation skills.
- Experience working in a multidisciplinary and multicultural work environment.
- Experience managing high pressure/high visibility projects, working with senior management and stakeholders.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and experience in making presentations and trainings will be a plus.
- Knowledge of financial regulations and derivatives will be a plus.
- Experience in legal advice on commodities, contract manufacturing transactions and purchasing of technical equipment will be a plus.
