Reports to: Café Manager

Start working: 7th November 2024

Job Summary:
Key Responsibilities:
1. Customer Service:

- Greet customers warmly and take their orders accurately.
- Provide information about menu items, specials, and promotions.
- Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and feedback courteously.
- Ensure prompt service and deliver orders to customers efficiently.

2. Food and Beverage Preparation:

- Prepare and serve coffee, tea, and other beverages according to standard recipes.
- Assemble and serve food items, including sandwiches, pastries, and salads.
- Maintain quality control for all food and beverages served.
- Follow proper food handling and sanitation procedures.

3. Cash Handling:

- Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system to process transactions quickly and accurately.
- Handle cash, credit, and debit card payments, and provide correct change.
- Balance the cash register at the end of shifts and report any discrepancies.

4. Cleaning and Maintenance:

- Keep the café clean and organized, including tables, counters, and restrooms.
- Wash and sanitize dishes, utensils, and equipment.
- Restock supplies and ensure all areas are adequately stocked throughout the shift.
- Assist with opening and closing duties as needed.

5. Team Collaboration:

- Work effectively with other crew members and the café manager to ensure smooth operations.
- Participate in team meetings and training sessions.
- Support new team members by providing guidance and assistance.

Qualifications:

- Previous experience in a café, restaurant, or customer service role is preferred but not required.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Basic math skills for handling cash transactions.
- A positive attitude and a team-oriented mindset.
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices is a plus.

Education and Experience:

- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Working Conditions:

- Ability to work flexible hours, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.
- Ability to lift moderate weights and handle hot or cold food and beverages.

Compensation:

- Competitive hourly wage based on experience.
