**Position Summary**: The Room Controller is responsible for maximizing room revenue by efficiently managing room inventory and coordinating room assignments. They work closely with the Front Desk, Housekeeping, Sales, and Reservations teams to ensure smooth guest arrivals, special request fulfillment, and optimal room usage. **Key Responsibilities**: - Assign and block guest rooms based on reservations, room type availability, VIP status, and special requests. - Manage daily room inventory to optimize occupancy and revenue while ensuring guest satisfaction. - Monitor same-day arrivals to anticipate needs and avoid potential problems. - Communicate with Housekeeping to ensure room readiness and prioritize cleaning based on arrivals. - Liaise with the Sales and Reservations teams regarding group blocks, early arrivals, late checkouts, and special client needs. - Handle "out of order" and "out of service" rooms in the system and coordinate maintenance schedules. - Respond promptly to guest inquiries regarding room assignments, special accommodations, and preferences. - Keep updated reports on room status, occupancy levels, and daily forecasts. - Update the PMS (Property Management System) and related software tools as needed. - Collaborate with Front Desk agents to facilitate early check-ins and late check-outs. - Assist in upselling room categories and enhancing guest experience through room enhancements. - Follow and enforce company policies, brand standards, and guest service procedures. **Skills and Qualifications**: - Proven experience in Front Office operations, Reservations, or related hospitality fields. - Strong understanding of hotel Property Management Systems (e.g., Opera, OnQ, Maestro). - Excellent organizational, multitasking, and communication skills. - Ability to make quick decisions under pressure while maintaining a guest-centric focus. - High attention to detail and problem-solving abilities. - Ability to work flexible schedules, including weekends and holidays. **Education and Experience Requirements**: - High school diploma or equivalent required. - Degree or coursework in Hospitality Management or a related field preferred. - 1-2 years of hotel front office or reservations experience preferred.
