**Responsibilities**:
Responsible for supporting the MSQ Manager and ensuring full compliance with the Safety Management System (SMS) across the fleet. Key duties include supervising onboard safety activities, conducting internal and external audits (ISM), implementing safety and training programs, and ensuring compliance with oil majors' and charterers’ HSSE requirements. The role also involves:
- Conducting onboard drills, exercises, and training for crew and shore personnel
- Investigating incidents and coordinating safety-related reports
- Performing regular ship visits and safety inspections
- Monitoring vessel audit schedules, ensuring timely corrective actions and certification compliance
- Keeping up to date with applicable maritime rules, regulations, and legislation
- Assessing navigational standards and recommending improvements
- Compiling safety meeting minutes and Master’s comments for quarterly management review
This position plays a critical role in maintaining safety culture, operational excellence, and statutory compliance across the company and fleet.
**Qualification**:
- Class 1 Certificate of Competency
- Must have served in the capacity of a Chief Engineer or Master
- At least 10 years sea going experience
- Minimum 5 years working experience as a HSE superintendent or equivalent
- Strong leadership skills
- Good coaching skills
- Work well under pressure
- Team player and influencer
Pay: RM6,000.00 - RM10,000.00 per month
