**Job Overview**:
The **Revenue Analyst** at Ibis Styles Hotel Kuala Lumpur Fraser Business Park is responsible for supporting the hotel’s revenue management strategy, analyzing market trends, and providing data-driven insights to optimize room revenue and overall profitability. This role involves collaborating with various departments, particularly Sales, Front Office, and Marketing, to ensure that the hotel’s pricing strategy aligns with its business objectives and market demand. The Revenue Analyst plays a key role in maximizing revenue through effective pricing, inventory management, and forecasting.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- **Revenue Optimization**:
- Assist in the development and implementation of the hotel’s revenue management strategy, ensuring alignment with business goals and market demand.
- Analyze daily, weekly, and monthly performance metrics, including occupancy, ADR (Average Daily Rate), RevPAR (Revenue per Available Room), and market segmentation.
- Assist in setting room rates and adjusting pricing strategies to maximize revenue based on market trends, competitor pricing, and demand patterns.
- Monitor and adjust pricing across all distribution channels (e.g., OTA, GDS, direct website) to optimize yield and profitability.
- **Forecasting and Reporting**:
- Prepare accurate forecasts and projections for room revenue, occupancy, and ADR for short
- and long-term periods.
- Provide detailed analysis of market demand, booking patterns, and historical data to create reliable forecasts and budgeting reports.
- Generate daily, weekly, and monthly revenue reports, including performance comparisons to budget, forecast, and prior year results.
- Assist in the preparation of revenue and performance reports for senior management, highlighting areas for improvement and opportunities for revenue growth.
- **Market Analysis and Trend Monitoring**:
- Continuously analyze the competitive landscape, market trends, and customer booking behavior to identify opportunities and threats.
- Regularly monitor competitor pricing, promotions, and market conditions to ensure the hotel remains competitive and can capitalize on emerging trends.
- Conduct analysis of demand channels, including leisure, corporate, and group segments, to determine where to focus marketing and sales efforts.
- **Inventory Management**:
- Collaborate with the Front Office and Reservations teams to manage room inventory, ensuring optimal availability for different market segments.
- Monitor room availability and ensure proper allocation of inventory to various channels to minimize the risk of overbooking or underbooking.
- Help implement strategic overbooking policies and room restrictions to optimize room sales and minimize potential revenue loss.
- **Collaboration with Other Departments**:
- Work closely with the Sales, Marketing, Front Office, and Reservations departments to align pricing strategies with marketing campaigns, promotions, and sales efforts.
- Collaborate with the Sales team to ensure group and corporate rates are optimized for maximum profitability.
- Provide regular feedback and recommendations to the management team on revenue-related decisions, strategies, and actions.
- **Data Integrity and Systems Management**:
- Ensure that all revenue-related data is accurate and up to date in the property management system (PMS) and revenue management system (RMS).
- Assist in maintaining and updating pricing information in all relevant systems, including PMS, RMS, and distribution channels.
- Support the implementation and use of revenue management tools and software to streamline processes and enhance reporting accuracy.
**Qualifications**:
- **Education**:
- Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
- **Experience**:
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a **Revenue Management** or **Revenue Analyst** role, preferably in the hotel or hospitality industry.
- Strong knowledge of **hotel pricing strategies**, market segmentation, and revenue management systems (e.g., **IDeaS**, **Revinate**, **TravelClick**).
- Familiarity with **property management systems** (PMS) such as **Opera**, **Mews**, or similar systems.
- Experience with **data analysis** and creating reports to inform business decisions.
- **Skills and Knowledge**:
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and translate it into actionable insights.
- Proficiency in **Microsoft Excel** (advanced functions such as pivot tables, VLOOKUP, etc.) and other data analysis tools.
- Solid understanding of **hotel financials** (ADR, RevPAR, occupancy, and market segmentation).
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to present data clearly and effectively to non-technical stakeholders.
