Laboratory Technician

Perform routine insect rearing activities, including feeding and maintaining insect colonies, as well as cleaning cages, tanks, and related apparatus.
- Organize and maintain laboratory apparatus to ensure proper housekeeping and easy accessibility for daily use.
- Prepare and replenish insect feed and rearing media for various colonies (e.g., mosquitoes, cockroaches, house flies) in accordance with established SOPs.
- Assist in product testing activities, including preparation of insects, test samples, apparatus, and equipment.

Support additional tasks as assigned by the supervisor, such as ensuring insect quality, maintaining accurate testing data, and enhancing laboratory operational efficiency.

Job Requirements:

- Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Entomology, Biotechnology, or a related scientific field.
- Prior experience in insect rearing, laboratory work, or related fields will be an advantage.
- Familiarity with standard laboratory practices, SOPs, and safety guidelines.
- Detail-oriented with good organizational and housekeeping skills to manage laboratory apparatus and materials.
- Ability to handle insects (e.g., mosquitoes, cockroaches, house flies) with care and in compliance with biosafety standards.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills, with the ability to follow instructions and support supervisors effectively.
- Willingness to perform routine tasks and adapt to additional duties to ensure smooth laboratory operations.
- Basic computer skills for recording data and maintaining accurate documentation.
