**JOB PURPOSE**:

- Plan, develop and manage the day-to-day operation of Library and Resource Centre (LRC) effectively to meet the requirement as the source information in the maritime field for ALAM and maritime industry.
- Provide continuous improvement in keeping with changes in technology in managing LRC as a one-stop information centre for maritime references and to support ALAM mission and vision.

**PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES**:

- Plan, develop and manage the day-to-day operation of LRC effectively to meet the requirement as the source information in the maritime field for ALAM and maritime industry.
- Plan, prepare and ensure all operating budget allocated is effectively utilized by monitoring the expenses incurred.
- Plan, develop and maintaining procedures and guidelines to ensure the cost-effectiveness of the operations.
- Develop the digital library for the maritime field in tandem with MISC and PETRONAS prescribed systems and technology with linkages to MISC and PETRONAS Resource Centre.
- Develop effective storage and retrieval system by cataloguing and classifying the information resources according to the MISC/PETRONAS Resource Centre and International standards for easy, accurate and fast access.
- Monitor and coordinate the acquisition of information resources and review the request to ensure reliable and relevant materials are procured.
- Provide and promote the resource centre, resources and facilities in enhancing the learning and training process for ALAM students and staff.
- Implement ISO 9001:2000 element in the Resource Centre in tandem with the requirement of STCW courses following the ISO procedures.
- Monitor and maintain the effectiveness of circulation system for borrowing and returning of all LRC materials.
- Provide information research support for students and staff in their research and learning process.
- Develop, train, coach and motivate staff to achieve high productivity level to realise the ALAM’s vision and coordinate administrative functions related to HR administration, office administration and external users pertaining to the management of the Resource Centre.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent, Contract
Contract length: 12 months

**Salary**: RM6,000.00 - RM8,000.00 per month
