**About the Role**:
**Grade Level (for internal use)**: 09
**The Role**: The Associate Editor/Editor will join the close-knit iron ore benchmark team in Asia and participate in the daily assessment process. The job involves gathering pricing information and market intelligence, and then forming that information into price assessments and published market commentaries, news updates and in-depth analysis stories. You will also be in a thought leadership position, helping Platts further cements its leading position through high-quality work. Market engagement is a critical part of the role. Based in Singapore, the analyst/editor will engage with key market participants and nurture relationships with key stakeholders in the market.

**Our Hiring Manager says**: This person will be responsible for producing one of Platts’ most important benchmark assessments as well as a number of regional key price assessments, and for managing key relationships with stakeholders.
**Responsibilities**:
Assess daily iron ore market price, including seaborne iron ore market and Chinese portstock market
Gather commodity price information, produce price assessments/indexes and write commentary
Assess the value of benchmark prices fully in line with Platts’ rigorous and published methodologies
Regularly engage market participants, helping showcase Platts expertise, and helping to explain our methodology
Analyze and explain fundamentals and market developments affecting prices
Develop, expand and maintain contacts relevant to the market area of coverage
Facilitate close working relationships with key stakeholders
Ability to effectively manage and develop price reporting coverage in the region
**Qualifications**:
Minimum of Bachelor’s degree or similar level university degree
Excellent English writing skills is required
Strong analytical skills
Must be proficient in spoken Mandarin; ability to read and write Mandarin a plus
Good organizational planning skills; able to work collaboratively in a dynamic, fast-paced team environment
Must be comfortable with Microsoft excel and large data sets
Adept at managing multiple tasks and adhering to regular deadlines. Able to prioritize quickly and to readjust priorities throughout the day.
Self-driven, energetic and proactive
Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to work in a team-oriented, global, multi-cultural environment
