Manager, Financial Control

**What is the opportunity?**

As a Manager within the Finance Department, you will be responsible to manage month-end closing deliverables for the Malaysia entities including, but not limited to: Intra-group reconciliations, Intra-group settlements, accruals and general ledger attestation, support stakeholders in Finance matters and ensure all financial records are accurate and in-line with RBC policies and local statutory and accounting guidance, ensure completion of designated Regulatory, Finance and Head Office reporting in a timely manner.

Also, responsible to play a leading role in the year-end audit for both Malaysian entities and participate in the management of the Financial Control function, whilst supervising, coaching and training others in the team.

**What will you do?**
- Manage the financial accounting records for Malaysia. This includes, but not limited to: review and provide variance analysis for the non-trading P&L, monthly balance-sheet attestation, review the NIE and balance sheet journals prepared by MY Finance team.
- Manage the Accounts Payable and Fixed Assets activities to ensure they are accounted accurately and timely as well as review and update the Delegation of Authority and Authorised Signatory List to ensure proper controls in payment process.
- Attend quarterly meetings with other functions department to ensure constant communication and engagement.
- Manage reporting in line with RBC and statutory requirements, e.g. Standard of Documentation packages, SOX, GL attestation, local regulatory survey and declaration, and Finance and Tax submissions to home authorities.
- Manage Intra-Group and Transfer Pricing invoices and booking of corresponding entries.
- Play a leading role in the year-end audit and ensure financial statements are accurately completed and submitted in a timely manner as well as actively participate in local and global projects, including assisting in driving continuous process improvements, such as report standardisation and centralisation of processes.
- Conduct robust reviews of business and function costs, recommend and support cost saving initiatives.
- Maintain standard, centralized processes where applicable to ensure effectiveness and efficiency of reporting as well as to ensure documentation such as procedure notes are current, and maintained in line with best practices.
**What do you need to succeed?**
**Must-have**
- Tertiary education in Accounting/Commerce/Business discipline and/or Accounting designation (CA, CPA etc.
- 7+ years’ experience in finance discipline, preferably Accounting, Audit, Management Reporting and Financial Planning & Analysis.
- Accounting designation required, preferable with accounting professional membership.
Strong written and verbal communication.
- Advanced knowledge of Excel and attention to detail.
- As a guideline to ensure a reasonable time is spent in a role, you are expected to have at least 12 months of service in your current role for any lateral move.
**Nice-to-have**
- Able to deal with a variety of issues on a concurrent basis.
- Good Microsoft Office skill - Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint.
- Experienced in team and stakeholder management.
