Key Responsibilities:
1. Postpartum Care for Mothers:

- Provide comprehensive postpartum care to mothers, ensuring that they are physically and emotionally recovering well after childbirth.
- Monitor vital signs, uterine contractions, bleeding, and other postpartum conditions to ensure proper healing.
- Assist in the management of common postpartum conditions such as perineal pain, episiotomy care, and breastfeeding issues.
- Offer guidance on personal hygiene, nutrition, and self-care practices during the recovery period.

2. Assisting with Breastfeeding:

- Support and assist new mothers with breastfeeding, including advising on proper latch, positioning, and breastfeeding techniques.
- Educate mothers about the benefits of breastfeeding, proper milk expression, and storage, and help them overcome common breastfeeding challenges such as engorgement or nipple pain.
- Provide emotional support and encouragement to mothers who are experiencing breastfeeding difficulties, helping them build confidence in their ability to breastfeed.

3. Newborn Care:

- Provide newborn care guidance, including information on bathing, diapering, umbilical cord care, and general infant care.
- Assist with newborn assessments, including monitoring vital signs, feeding, and sleeping patterns.
- Educate new parents on safe sleeping practices, infant care routines, and early developmental milestones.

4. Emotional and Psychological Support:

- Offer emotional and psychological support to new mothers adjusting to motherhood, including addressing concerns such as baby blues, postpartum depression, or anxiety.
- Provide encouragement, reassurance, and practical advice on managing the challenges of the early postpartum period.

5. Health Education and Guidance:

- Educate new mothers about the postpartum period, recovery, and the physical changes they may experience.
- Provide information on family planning options, pelvic floor exercises, and maintaining physical and mental well-being after childbirth.
- Conduct group or individual educational sessions for mothers about newborn care, breastfeeding, and maintaining a healthy lifestyle post-delivery.

6. Care Coordination:

- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure the comprehensive care of mothers and newborns.
- Assist in the coordination of follow-up care, including postnatal visits or referrals to specialists as needed.
- Maintain open communication with the family, offering ongoing support and guidance after discharge from the confinement centre.

7. Monitoring and Documentation:

- Record and monitor the progress of both mother and baby, documenting vital signs, assessments, and any concerns.
- Ensure accurate and timely documentation of all interactions, care plans, and progress in accordance with the confinement centre’s standards.

8. Hygiene and Safety:

- Maintain a clean and safe environment for both mother and baby, ensuring infection control standards are upheld.
- Assist in ensuring the comfort and safety of the mother during her stay at the confinement centre, including supporting her in rest and recovery.

Skills & Qualifications:

- Minimum diploma in nursing with completion of relevant training in maternal and child health, including postpartum care, breastfeeding support, and newborn care.
- At least 5 years of experience as a Midwife.
- Strong understanding of breastfeeding techniques, lactation management, and infant
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to educate, support, and encourage parents in a compassionate and non-judgmental manner.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities to assess and address a wide range of breastfeeding challenges.

Pay: RM6,000.00 - RM7,000.00 per month
