Site Safety Supervisors

**JOB SCOPE / RESPONSIBILITIES**

**1. Safety Monitoring**
- Monitor daily site activities to ensure all works comply with Safety, Health & Environmental (SHE) standards.
- Identify unsafe acts/conditions and take immediate corrective actions.
- Conduct daily site inspections and record findings in the Safety Log Book.

**2. Documentation & Reporting**
- Prepare and maintain all safety documentation:

- Safety Inspection Reports
- Incident / Accident Reports
- Weekly and Monthly Safety Reports
- HIRARC (Hazard Identification, Risk Assessment & Risk Control)
- Permit-to-work (PTW) records
- Ensure all records are properly filed and accessible for DOSH / CIDB inspection

**3. Safety Briefings & Training**
- Conduct Toolbox Meetings, Safety Induction, and Emergency Drills for all site personnel.
- Promote safety awareness among all workers and subcontractors.
- Ensure all personnel receive safety briefings before starting work.

**4. Compliance & Enforcement**

1) Ensure full compliance with:

- Occupational Safety and Health Act 1994 (OSHA 1994)
- Factories and Machinery Act 1967 (FMA 1967)
- CIDB and DOSH regulations
- Stop any unsafe work immediately and report violation to the Project Manager.
- Verify and monitor validity of workers’ medical surveillance, safety induction cards, and PPE usage.

**5. Coordination**

1) Liaise with:

- Project Manager & Site Engineer for planning safe work methods.
- Subcontractors to ensure compliance with safety procedures.
- DOSH, CIDB, or local authorities during site inspections or audits.

**6. Emergency Preparedness**
- Ensure emergency equipment (fire extinguishers, first aid kits, alarms) are available and maintained.
- Conduct regular Emergency Response Drills with all site personnel.
- Act as Emergency Coordinator in case of accident or fire.

**CRITERIA / REQUIREMENTS (3SSS)**

**1. Qualification**
- Must be a competent person registered with DOSH (Department of Occupational Safety and Health) Malaysia.
- Possess a valid Green Book (Site Safety Supervisor Certificate).
- Minimum Diploma in Occupational Safety & Health (OSH) or equivalent qualification related to construction safety.
- Must have completed the Site Safety Supervisor Course approved by DOSH.

**2. Experience**
- Minimum 3 years of working experience in construction safety supervision.
- Experience in building, infrastructure, or interior fit-out projects is an added advantage
- Familiar with OSH Act 1994, Factory and Machinery Act 1967, and CIDB Safety Guidelines.

**3. Technical & Professional Skills**
- Good knowledge of risk assessment, HIRARC, and control measures.
- Able to conduct toolbox meetings, safety briefings, and inspections.
- Skilled in preparing Safety Reports, Accident/Incident Reports, and Non-Conformance Reports (NCR).
- Competent in implementing Emergency Response Plans (ERP) and Permit-to-Work (PTW) systems.
- Able to monitor PPE compliance, housekeeping, and safe work procedures on site.

**4. Personal Attributes**
- Responsible, disciplined, and safety-oriented.
- Good communication and leadership skills - able to enforce safety among workers and subcontractors.
- Proactive and alert in identifying potential hazards.
- Able to work independently with minimum supervision.
- Must have good record of integrity and compliance.
