**Job Summary**:
The **Deputy Registrar** supports the Registrar in managing the academic administration of the university, ensuring the effective delivery of student services, academic records, examinations, and compliance with regulatory bodies. This role involves a combination of leadership, operational management, policy implementation, and continuous process improvement in line with institutional goals and statutory requirements.
**Key Responsibilities:Academic Administration & Governance**
- Assist in the formulation and implementation of academic policies and regulations.
- Oversee the scheduling and administration of examinations, convocation, and senate/committee meetings.
- Ensure the integrity and security of student records, transcripts, and certifications.
- Support the implementation of academic calendars and course registration procedures.
- Ensure compliance with national regulatory bodies (e.g., MQA, MOHE, JPT).
**Student & Records Management**
- Supervise student admissions, enrolment, progression, and graduation processes.
- Monitor and maintain accurate student data in the university's Student Information System (SIS).
- Handle matters related to academic appeals, disciplinary cases, and inter-faculty transfers.
**Leadership & Operational Oversight**
- Lead and manage staff in the Registrar’s Office; provide mentorship and training.
- Review and streamline administrative procedures to improve efficiency and service quality.
- Represent the Registrar in meetings, taskforces, and events when required.
**Quality Assurance & Compliance**
- Support audits and accreditations by preparing relevant documentation and reports.
- Ensure compliance with university statutes, academic rules, and government directives.
- Liaise with professional bodies and external agencies as needed.
**Qualifications**:
**Essential**:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education Administration, Business Administration, Law, or related field.
- Minimum of 5-8 years of experience in academic administration, with at least 2 years in a managerial role.
- Strong knowledge of higher education systems, academic governance, and regulatory compliance.
**Preferred**:
- Master’s degree or postgraduate qualification.
- Experience working in a university setting or with government educational bodies.
- Familiarity with digital academic systems (e.g., SIS, Moodle, or similar platforms).
Pay: RM3,700.00 - RM4,200.00 per month
