Artistic food presentation: Designs and executes the creative and visually appealing presentation of all cakes, including garnishes, flower decoration arrangements, and decorative elements.
- Decorative displays: Creates artistic showpieces and displays using various mediums such as fondant, butter sculptures, chocolates, pastilage and sugar work.
- Buffet and banquet setup: Decorates and arranges food for buffet spreads and special banquets, ensuring the presentation aligns with the event's theme or a luxury standard.
- Develop seasonal and festive decorations to enhance guest experiences: Collaborates with the Executive chef / Executive sous chef / Executive Pastry Chef and culinary team to develop new concepts and innovate presentation ideas.
- Quality control: Monitors the visual quality and consistency of all prepared and visualised cake to ensure it meets the establishment's standards.
- Training and supervision: Guides and trains junior kitchen staff in advanced artistic techniques and proper kitchen standards.
- Kitchen and safety hygiene: Upholds the highest standards of food safety, hygiene, and sanitation in all food preparation and display areas.
- Inventory management: Ensures the proper handling, storage, and inventory of ingredients and decorative materials to minimize waste and maintain cost efficiency.
**Skills, Experience & Educational Requirements**:
- At least 5-6 years of professional kitchen experience, with several years in a supervisory or management role.
- Expertise in various cooking techniques and cuisines.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- In-depth knowledge of food safety regulations and kitchen hygiene.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Creative with a passion for food and culinary innovation.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Financial acumen for budgeting and cost control.
- Ability to handle stress and solve problems quickly.
