Safety Health Officer

**Job Purpose**:
Promote and enforce in implementation on all aspects of the KVDT 2 Project Occupational Safety & Health (OSH) Management & ISO 45001 System requirements and required regulations as per OSHA 1994 or FMA 1967 or others.

**Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities**:

- Advising the KVDT 2 Management on measures to be taken in the interest of safety & health for the employees & public in the project;
- To comply & adhere to all matters pertaining to Quality, Safety, Health, and Environment related to the job scope and workplace as required by the company;
- Enforce compliance program for KTMB038, KTMB 039, KTMB040, CIDB Green card and any other required Safety Procedures & System for personnel & machineries working in KVDT 2 project;
- Arrange periodic site Safety Toolbox Briefings program by Subcontractors to further improve & inculcate safe working practices to Construction Teams;
- Secretary of the Safety & Health Committee & perform all function as required;
- Assist Safety & Health Committee Workplace Inspection;
- Perform Safety Inspection of machinery, plant, equipment, process;
- Conduct Occupational Safety & Health (OSH) Inspections with Sub-Contractor’s Safety Representative on work areas, make observations, records and reports the inspection findings to Safety Section Heads and then follow-up on the necessary improvement actions to ensure that safe working practices compliance;
- Conduct periodic workers’ Welfare & Health Facilities Inspections together with Safety Supervisors;
- Enforce Personal Protective Equipment (PPE's) implementation & conduct Monthly Safety Equipment Inventories;
- Perform together with Safety Section Heads Ad-hoc Workplace Safety Walkabout / OSH Inspections & Internal Audits at the project sites and on the sub-contractors;
- Advise Safety Supervisors, Site Supervisors & Subcontractors Safety Representatives in Incident / Accident Investigations; check their reports and follow-up on Corrective & Preventive control measures implemented;
- Collect, Analyze, provide & maintain statistics incident/accident, dangerous occurrence, occupational poisoning/diseases which have occurred in the project;
- Assisting in organizing & implementing project occupational safety & health program;
- Implementing project Safety Promotion Programs or Safety Campaign as advised by Safety Section Heads;
- Provide data & feedback to Safety Section Heads in preparation & submission of Monthly OSH Management data for preparation of KVDT 2 Project Monthly Safety Reports;
- To submit Monthly Safety & Health Report to DMIA Management;
- Performed OSH Training & Orientation session (i.e. Section New Employee Safety Induction and Project Site Entry Safety Induction Briefing) on regular basis throughout the construction period;
- Liaise with Sub-contractors’ Safety Representative on OSH matters on regular basis;
- Assist Officer from Department of Occupational Safety & Health (DOSH) in carrying out his duty under OSHA Act;
- Advise the ERT & Traffic Management team during any emergencies/crisis or for safe in line with the KVDT 2 Emergency Response Plan (ERP) respectively when required;
- Any other duties (related to OSH) that Safety Section Heads or the Management might assign that from time to time.

**Experience**:

- Above 3 years working experience in safety management.
- Experience in railway track/or construction works shall be an advantage.

**Educations/Qualifications**:
Certificate in Safety & Health Officer (SHO) & Registered with DOSH as Safety & Health Officer.

**Specific Skills/Abilities**:

- General Occupational Safety & Health Management and Environmental background.
- Competent First Aider

**Salary**: RM5,000.00 - RM8,000.00 per month
