Familiarize yourself with the overall WtE process, including waste reception, sorting, incineration, energy recovery, and emissions control.
- Work closely with mechanical, civil, and environmental engineers to integrate electrical systems with other components of the WtE facility.
- Design the power distribution system for the entire facility, considering the power requirements of various equipment such as incinerators, conveyors, turbines, and emission control systems.
- Implement control systems for monitoring and managing the various processes within the WtE facility. This includes Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems.
- Specify and install instrumentation and sensors for monitoring parameters such as temperature, pressure, and flow rates in critical areas of the facility.
- Implement safety systems to ensure the protection of personnel and equipment. This may include emergency shutdown systems and fire detection/suppression systems.
- Collaborate on the design and implementation of systems for recovering energy from the waste incineration process, such as steam turbines or other energy conversion technologies.
- Explore opportunities to integrate renewable energy sources, such as solar panels or wind turbines, to supplement the power requirements of the WtE facility.
- Design the connection to the electrical grid, considering power export and import as well as backup power systems.
- Ensure that all electrical systems comply with relevant safety standards and electrical codes. This is crucial for the safety of personnel and the overall reliability of the facility.
- Develop comprehensive maintenance plans for all electrical systems to ensure long-term reliability and minimize downtime.
- Ensure that the electrical systems comply with environmental regulations, particularly regarding emissions and pollution control.
- Provide training for operations and maintenance staff on the electrical systems. Create comprehensive documentation for all electrical components and systems.
- Collaborate with the project management team to analyze the cost implications of electrical system decisions and find cost-effective solutions.

**Job Type**: Contract

**Salary**: RM1,500.00 - RM2,500.00 per month
