We are fully remote-work organisation – offering significant flexibility in your work environment. We have been operating in this mode for over 10 years.

We run an office in Mid Valley City, Kuala Lumpur with team members working remotely across Malaysia. We have setup our work environment to enhance this working arrangement: we are focusing on outcomes and work practices that enable us to achieve our goals.

This provides great flexibility and at the same time requires discipline. Your ability to demonstrate adapting to this working environment is critical. As such, prior experience in working remotely and/or from home is highly desirable.

We have Standup meeting every day and our engineers and consultants talk to each other throughout the day. We provide all the tools and methodologies to support this practice.

We are looking for a Team Lead / Lead Engineer to lead team of 3-5 software engineers. We are looking for individuals with leadership skills or want to develop leadership skills. We are committed to invest in training and mentoring individual who see himself/herself as leader.

About the role

As a team lead, we expect you to have the following qualifications, capabilities and able to take on the following responsibilities:

Qualifications

• Must possess at least a Bachelor's Degree in:

• Computer Science/Information Technology,

• Engineering (Computer/Telecommunication),
• Science & Technology or equivalent.
• 3 to 5 years or more of experience working in a software development environment.
• Able and want to lead (demonstrated leadership in the past would be desirable but not mandatory)
• Familiar with (or want to practice) AI-augmented/assisted software development
• Familiar with (or want to learn) the following technologies and frameworks:

• AI: Large Language Model and Natural Language Processing

• Cloud: AWS, Azure and GCP

• Containerisation: Docker and Kubernetes
• NodeJS/Angular/Python/PHP
• Databases and search engines (RDBMS, NoSQL and Vector, Elastic Search and Solr)
• Linux (and Windows) Server operating systems

Capabilities and Responsibilities

• Want and able to lead a team of 305 engineers
• Understand, appreciate and able to develop clarity of thought and focus.
• Eager learner: learn and apply new technologies.
• Take responsibility for assigned tasks: estimating, monitoring and communicating the progress of tasks.
• Liaise and communicate with international staff in both written and spoken English on project works on a daily basis.
• Design, analyse and develop solutions within a product framework development lifecycle, and following software patterns (and best practice).
• Takes responsibility for the quality assurance of implemented components, including reading, writing and executing test plans
