Summary

The Lead Engineer, Test Manufacturing accepts, transfers, installs, improves and maintains automatic test equipment and test programs that are used for product testing and design verification. They also may support the test development of the test equipment and processes to ensure robust and high quality test solutions and final products are realized.

Detailed Description

Performs tasks such as, but not limited to, the following:

• Develop the test programs based on our existing test plan and test platform
• Work closely with the customer / R&D and our test engineer to generate the test software in our test structure
• Develop the test programs / test scripts based on test plan
• Create test design documentation including test instructions, specifications, drawings
• Provide technical support to test engineering team including hands-on debug of test systems
• Manage own time and assigned resources to meet product launch schedule and quality objectives 

Knowledge/Skills/Competencies

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science (Software Engineering)
• 2-5 years of experience in Server/Networking product functional test development
• Proficiency in test automation scripting/programming using Python, Perl, Shell (Bash), Red Hat scripting, TCL, PowerShell, HTML, PHP, JavaScript, MySQL, LabVIEW, or similar languages
• Strong command line, system configuration, and automation skills in Linux (Ubuntu, Red Hat, CentOS)
• Experience with firmware (BIOS, BMC/IPMI, CPLD) validation and debugging
• Knowledge of Serial/I2C/SPI protocol debugging for server/networking hardware interfaces
• Experience in JDM test processes
• Familiarity with test sequencers
• SQL/database handling for test data logging and retrieval
• Capability to develop scripts and tools for data collection, reporting, throughput analysis, test time and yield monitoring, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives

Physical Demands

• Duties of this position are performed in a normal office environment.
• Duties may require extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or on numbers and other detailed data. 
• Repetitive manual movements (e.g., data entry, using a computer mouse, using a calculator, etc.) are frequently required.
• Occasional travel may be required.
