Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent qualification required. Trade Certificate will be advantageous
  • A minimum of 2 years' working experience in a similar role.
  • Solid experience with plumbing and electrical systems.
  • Ability to work with hardware tools and power equipment.
  • Extremely organized with good communication skills.
  • Detail-orientated with an aptitude for problem-solving.
  • Proven experience as maintenance/handyman
  • Experience with hardware tools and electrical equipment
  • Basic understanding of electrical, plumbing, or fixtures
  • Good communication ability
  • Well-organized and apt in problem-solving - Attention to detail
  • A current, valid clean Driver's license is required and must be maintained throughout employment
  • Ability to work well with people, with strong customer service skills
  • Ability to lift & carry 20 kg; able to bend, reach, push, pull, load, unload, climb, etc., including the ability to work safely from a six (6) foot ladder or OSHA approved work platform
  • Managing inventory and notifying managers of needed hardware, Requirements & Skills 3
  • Punctual and reliable attendance with a strong work ethic with reliability and dependability
  • Enjoy working with others and taking direction when needed
  • Dedication, seeking individuals who can take the initiative and work independently

Responsibility

  • Perform basic tasks for building repairs such as plumbing, carpentry, painting, plastering, electrical tasks including painting and filling crevices and managing maintenance repairs
  • Detect, perform repairs on company machinery, equipment or appliances - report the need for major maintenance repairs
  • Regularly check to identify issues with mechanical failure or breakdowns, repair plumbing, electrical and safety systems
  • Respond to maintenance requests in a timely and professional manner including duties as assigned for emergency tasks
  • Conduct performance assessments of company appliances, such as refrigerators, microwaves, stoves, ovens and coffee makers.
  • Provide operations team with support and guidance on maintaining their equipment
  • Paint and fill gaps or crevices (on walls, floors, etc.) and dndertake light installation or carpentering (e.g. fix cabinets)
  • Cleaning, lubricating, and repairs; maintaining, organizing and proper storage all required tools and equipment; Responsible for proper use of hand and power tools, ladders / lifts, personal safety gear, etc.
  • Responsible for documenting/reporting all facilities, building, unit or property related issues to supervisor, including all safety/operational issue
  • Other duties as assigned
