Senior Executive, ASEAN Unit

The Senior Executive of the ASEAN Unit within the AFC's Member Association Division provides comprehensive administrative and operational support to the Head of the Unit in ensuring effective delivery of services to AFC Member Associations, Regional Associations, and all relevant internal and external stakeholders. The Senior Executive is expected to uphold the highest standards of professionalism, efficiency, and accuracy in all tasks, contributing to the smooth implementation of the Unit's objectives in alignment with the AFC's strategic goals.

Organizational Relationships

  • The Senior Executive reports to the Head of the ASEAN Unit.
  • The Senior Executive may also report to anyone as assigned by the AFC Deputy General Secretary, Member Associations.

Duties and Responsibilities

The Senior Executive's responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Support the promotion and implementation of AFC Development Programmes to Member Associations and funding programmes.
  • Assist in preparing, reviewing, and processing programme budgets, applications, and statutory audit reports, as well as tracking financial disbursements and project documentation for reporting purposes.
  • Identify discrepancies and propose solutions to enhance compliance and efficiency.
  • Contribute ideas to improve programme effectiveness and regulatory frameworks, while also contributing to crisis management, risk assessment, and post-crisis evaluations.
  • Support the planning and execution of related committee meetings, congresses, assessments, official presidential visits, and key governance engagements, including assisting with preparation of reports and recommendations when needed.
  • Maintain regular communication and strong relationships with Member Associations, and serve as the primary liaison for official communications and coordination with Regional Associations.
  • Assist in statutory document reviews, governance reform initiatives, and implementation of AFC Executive and Committee decisions.
  • Review, analyse, and process budgets, applications, and audit documentation in collaboration with relevant departments.
  • Assist in monitoring Regional Association competitions and evaluating programme delivery.
  • Provide input to improve governance processes, policy updates, and strategic frameworks.
  • Coordinate with internal departments to support cross-functional projects, including Social Responsibility and Stakeholder Relations initiatives, as well as providing relevant content and updates to the AFC's Communications Department for publications and outreach.
  • Adhoc duties as assigned by the AFC Deputy General Secretary, Member Associations or the Head of the Unit.

Knowledge/Abilities/Skills Required

  • Minimum Degree holder in related fields.
  • At least 2 years of working experience in relevant roles, preferably in an international sports organization.
  • Excellent communication skills, able to build rapport with internal and external stakeholders at all levels with professionalism and responsiveness.
  • Strong time management skills.
  • Attentive to detail, maintaining accuracy in work.
  • Team-oriented, adaptable, and capable of working under pressure.
  • Proactive and solutions-driven, committed to service excellence.
  • Demonstrate cultural awareness and respect for diversity across AFC Member Associations.
