The impact you'll make
Join Lam as a New Product Introduction (NPI) Manufacturing Engineer and take on a critical role in driving global product transitions, ensuring site manufacturing readiness, and supporting high-volume production.Leveraging your deep expertise in technology and engineering principles, you'll lead the planning, development, and optimization of manufacturing methods, processes, and systems. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve technical, safety, quality, and production challenges, while contributing to excellence in both product design and manufacturing execution.

As a key bridge between engineering and operations, you'll help ensure the seamless release of new products. Your ability to elevate manufacturing standards and reduce costs will directly support Lam's commitment to innovation, quality, and operational efficiency.

Job Responsibilities

• Drive the improvement of the manufacturing processes to ensure product quality, cost, and on-time-delivery.
• Develops, implements and maintains methods, operation sequence and processes in the manufacturing of sub-assemblies and final assemblies.
• Develop designs that improve product manufacturability , cost effective and drive innovative design solutions through Lam's process.Troubleshoot new or existing product problems, involving designs, materials, or processes.
• Define process and methods for high volume manufacturing which includes operations method sheet, routing, and sequencing.
• Perform root cause investigation and recommend corrective action for operational problems, such as material use variances, bottlenecks, fixture issues during build or manufacturing process.
• Identify opportunities to improve manufacturing processes or resolve problems and follow through resolution to reduce costs, improve product quality, and cycle time.
• Reviews and develops designs that improve product manufacturability and assembly.
• Coordinate new product builds in pilot production manufacturing partnering closely with manufacturing and product engineers.

Who We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field with 8+ years of experience; or Master's degree with 6+ years' experience; or equivalent experience.
• Skilled troubleshooting capabilities in the areas of electro/mechanical assemblies.
• Solid understanding of manufacturing processes.
• Proficient in Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA) with approach to structured problem-solving and decision-making.
• Proficient in software applications such as CAD modeling, Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), or Product Data Modeling (PDM) systems.
• Experience in Engineering Change Management Process.
• Working knowledge in Operation Method Sheets (OMS), process planning, and Bill of Materials (BOM) Management.

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of Semiconductor equipment, Capital Equipment industry and its manufacturing processes.
• Effective communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal, in English.
• Statistical analysis skills including statistical process control and data analysis used in production setting.
• Knowledge in Design Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (DFMEA).
• Proven stakeholder management skills, with ability to influence both internal and external stakeholders or customers in technical matters.

Lam offers a variety of work location models based on the needs of each role. Our hybrid roles combine the benefits of on-site collaboration with colleagues and the flexibility to work remotely and fall into two categories – On-site Flex and Virtual Flex. 'On-site Flex' you'll work 3+ days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, with the opportunity to work remotely for the balance of the week. 'Virtual Flex' you'll work 1-2 days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, and remotely the rest of the time.
