Job Summary

A Warehouse Assistant, also known as a Packer or Picker Packer, plays a crucial role in fulfilling orders by managing inventory and preparing items for shipment. This role involves interpreting order requirements, performing quality control, and ensuring items are packed securely and accurately according to shipping standards. Warehouse Assistants also weigh and label packages, inspect cartons and pallets, and ensure all processes comply with stipulated SOPs. Additionally, they maintain cleanliness, report equipment malfunctions, and adhere to health and safety policies. Collaboration with team members and providing support are essential aspects of the role.

Key Responsibilities

  • A Packer, or Picker Packer, is a warehouse employee responsible for fulfilling orders by arranging inventory and preparing them for shipment. Their duties include interpreting orders to determine which items need to be sent out, performing quality control assessments, and stacking items safely and securely in the right packaging.
  • Weighing packages and labeling them appropriately, inspecting packages to ensure they are not damaged dan Inspecting pallets / Cartons to ensure they meet shipping regulations.
  • Ensure accuracy of the picking, sorting, checking, packing, weighing, and labeling or other related activities under these circumstances is in accordance with the stipulated SOPs.
  • Reporting all abnormality or issue face to Supervisor
  • Offering assistance to other staff in the department during lulls in your day
  • Ensuring that the facility remains clean, sanitary, and well-organized
  • Maintain equipment and report on malfunctions
  • Adhere to health & safety policies and quality standards
  • Maintenance the MHE in good and safe condition
  • Ensuring that the facility remains clean, sanitary, and well-organized

Key Result Areas

Order Fulfillment and Quality Control

  • Accurately pick, sort, pack, weigh, and label orders.
  • Perform quality checks to ensure items meet shipping standards.
  • Inspect packages, cartons, and pallets to avoid damage or errors.

Facility and Equipment Maintenance

  • Keep the warehouse clean, sanitary, and organized.
  • Maintain material handling equipment (MHE) in safe, working condition.
  • Report abnormalities, issues, or malfunctions to the supervisor.

Health, Safety, and Collaboration

  • Adhere to health and safety policies and quality standards.
  • Offer assistance to colleagues during downtime.
  • Ensure compliance with operational procedures and regulations.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Knowledge in WMS, Microsoft Window, Excel
  • Demonstrated ability to implement management directives with less supervision
  • Ability to read, analyze, interpret technical procedures, and write reports and procedure manuals
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, and partners
  • Able to write and prepare good reports and documentation
  • Team player with the ability to work in a team and individual contributor

  • Able to Access, evaluate, and organize – range of sources
  • Independently initiate and evaluate complex activities
