BIM Modeler

Key Responsibilities

• Produce plant layout and general arrangement drawings from concept layouts provided by the Pre-Sales team.
• Develop workshop detail drawings including mechanical, structural, piping, and sheet metal components.
• Perform structural steel detailing using Revit or Navisworks.
• Generate DXF files for structural steel beam bases, end plates, and gusset plates for laser cutting.
• Include flat patterns with correct bend radii and bend lines for fabricated sheet metal drawings, and issue DXF files for laser cutting.
• Ensure all workshop detail drawings comply with Australian standards and use Australian Standard metric steel sections, plate steel, and universal beams.
• Create and manage all part models and assemblies using Revit/Navisworks.
• Incorporate B.O.M (Bill of Materials) in layout and arrangement drawings.
• Prepare cutting lists for structural steel detail drawings.
• Conduct self-checks before submitting drawings for internal review by the Engineering Manager.
• Manage electronic information efficiently to ensure accessibility and clarity for all project personnel.
• Collaborate closely with customers while working on Revit or Navisworks models.
• Maintain document revision control for all drawings.
• Support development of models for Augmented Reality (AR) or Virtual Reality (VR) visualization when required.
• Contribute to process improvement initiatives for overall BIM modelling workflow.

Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Mechanical / Structural / Civil Engineering, Design, or related field.
• Proven experience as a BIM Modeler or Design Drafter, preferably in a plant or industrial setting.
• Proficiency in Autodesk Revit and/or Navisworks.
• Familiarity with Australian design and drafting standards.
• Experience in steel structure detailing and sheet metal fabrication drawings.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to produce accurate DXF outputs for laser cutting.
• Good understanding of document control and revision management.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Contract length: 12 months

Pay: RM4, RM12,000.00 per month
